***Hope you guys are enjoying the story so far! I really like this chapter because it starts everything else I love about this story. That sounds weird to me, but what can I say? I'm a huge fan of the author!
A couple torturous weeks passed as Demetri blatantly avoided Ambrosia. No matter how many times Rose tried to apologize, her attempts all ended in utter failure. Every time she saw Demetri, he walked the other way. In class, he wouldn't even look at her. Because of this, Rose grew extremely depressed and miserable, but she had a plan to fix all this.
As Ambrosia sat at home one Friday afternoon, she put her plan into action in hopes it'd work. Rose dialed the one person she thought could help her. A few rings buzzed slowly before Ambrosia finally heard a click on the other end.
"Hello?" Rose heard.
"Hi, Catalina. I have a favor to ask of you."

Ambrosia waited in constant anguish on the school bleachers until the clock struck eight. She managed to sneak out the house an hour earlier.
As usual, her mom was at work, but for once, Ambrosia was glad. Her mom being gone made it a lot easier for Ambrosia to get out. Callum had holed himself up in his room where Rose could hear him speedily clicking away on his computer. She anxiously crept past his room and down the stairs before quietly darting out the door.
Callum and Ambrosia still weren't as close as they were, but he was trying to build their relationship back up. Ambrosia knew he was, but she couldn't seem to get over it.
No matter what, Callum made Rose feel worthless all these years, and each time she saw him, she was reminded of her anguish all over again. Ambrosia didn't care she never had a boyfriend, only how bad she felt because of it; the insecurity and misery she felt was all because of Callum. It was only now Ambrosia realized she was a fool to feel that way.
Demetri, on the other hand, wasn't Rose's boyfriend, but it didn't mean Ambrosia didn't like him. She cared deeply about him; it was only while he was avoiding her Ambrosia realized just how much she cared for him though. Realizing this, Ambrosia felt worse now than she ever did when Demetri was just a stranger. Ambrosia needed to end this. It was useless to keep going on with this petty fight.
"She looks perfectly fine to me," Ambrosia heard someone whisper, "You lied to me. You told me she was in trouble."
"I had to lie. You would never have come if you knew otherwise. Just go up and talk to her. You can't keep hiding forever," Catalina urged in a hushed whisper. Rose watched dejectedly as Demetri began to walk away.
"You'd feel a lot better if you knew the truth. What you thought happened isn't what really happened in her mind. She only wants to explain herself," Catalina pressed further. Staring at the ground, Demetri halted. From her seat at the top of the bleachers, Rose could hear a frustrated sigh escape his lips soon after.
"Fine," Demetri groaned.
Ambrosia smiled as Demetri turned and headed up the bleachers until he sat only inches away. Suddenly feeling nervous, Rose glanced at a smiling Catalina, who was giving Rose a thumbs up. Ambrosia smiled back, feeling her nerves vanish as Catalina walked quietly away to her home.
"I'm sorry for whatever I did. I don't know for sure what I did to hurt you this badly, but I am deeply sorry," Ambrosia quickly apologized, feeling her throat clench.
"You have no clue what you did?" Demetri questioned with eyes blazing red. Ambrosia nodded hesitantly. "Then, I have no reason to be mad?"
"You have every reason to be mad at me; I hurt you deeply."
