"You won't get away with this. You will be mine, I will have you as my slave, and you will do as I say. If you don't, your precious Demetri will be dead along with your family and all your friends. Don't forget, I am the only one to save you. I can make you better. I can prevent you from dying. I can prevent all of this from furthering. You only need to do as I say or hope God saves you." Ambrosia, sitting up in Demetri's bed, looked sternly to a corner of the dark room.
This voice... Where have I heard it before?
"There will be a text message on your cell phone. Check it. It will tell you what to do. And another thing, don't tell anyone about this or that text. You'll regret it if you do," a shadow spoke grimly, sounding like Ambrosia's soon-to-be executioner.
"Who are you? Why do you want me? I've never done anything to you!" Rose cried, shivers rolling down her spine.
"You've done everything to me! You'll pay for what you did! Mark my words. You'll pay!"
Confused, Rose inquired, "Who are you?" I've never done anything to anyone... ever.
"Your worst nightmare," the shadow replied menacingly. Ambrosia stared unfazed at the shadow.
Couldn't he have come up with something better? Every villain says this; it's too clichéd. He could have at least come up with something more original if he was planning to threaten me.
What am I doing? Why am I talking about this? I should be worried about what's going to happen to me! Or why this person wants me! I shouldn't be worrying about a simple overstated cliché!
Rose narrowed her gaze, hoping to get a good look of the person. Alas, he blended in with the darkness surrounding her; Ambrosia was unable to see the smallest aspect of him. Before her laid only a dark, brooding figure.
Out of the blue, a white flash appeared, and the figure disappeared. Rose searched around for him without any luck; her senses weren't picking up on him either. The shadow was gone without a clue to help her.

Ambrosia woke up paralyzed, still atop of Demetri, who stared observing her. He rubbed her back.
Once she managed to move again, Rose hastily asked for her cell phone.
"Why do you need it?" Demetri questioned, continuing to stare at her wide-eyed.
"I need it, okay? I need it now!" Rose exclaimed, only thinking of the shadow. Demetri sighed and gently lifted her up to straddle him. He rubbed her shoulder as Rose moaned in pain.
Demetri reached his hand over to his nightstand and dug through the drawer. He pulled out Ambrosia's cell phone, which she quickly grabbed and turned on. Like the shadow said, there's one new message.
Ambrosia hurriedly opened it to find a list of instructions. She read through them carefully. When finished, Rose groaned in frustration. How would she do all this? How could she not get caught?
"What is it? What's wrong?" Demetri asked apprehensively.
"Huh? Nothing... I'm fine," Rose remarked, faking a smile.
"You're not. I can tell you're not. You wouldn't be making that face if everything was fine. What's wrong?" Rose fumbled for words. What should she say? She couldn't tell him about the text. She couldn't hurt him. Rather, she wouldn't let him get hurt; she loved him too much.
"I was thinking about my fainting... You know the bright, white light people talk about before they die? I didn't see one. I didn't know if I should take that as a good sign or a bad one..." Rose snuck a peek at the corner of the room where the shadow had been before closing her eyes as if in thought. "So many questions continuously popped into my head. Am I dead? Am I alive? I couldn't tell. I didn't see the white light, but I didn't see anything to let me know I was alive either. I feared I was dead. I thought I would never see any of you again..."
