"Dee, you can't leave. It's not safe. I won't let you. Forget about Persephone and Alejandro. This is our house, too. We're seventeen, only a year younger than adult. We can do what we want."

Ambrosia slowly awoke, hearing the voice of a girl. She left her eyes closed, wondering if she should interrupt. It must be Catalina for she was the only person left in the house Ambrosia knew of. Hush Ambrosia. Pretend to still be asleep, or you'll lose this valuable information.

"Cat, I have to get her out of here. Persephone doesn't want her here, and Rose doesn't like how she doesn't like her." Ambrosia smiled helplessly as he called her Rose. "She doesn't feel safe here, and I won't keep her here if she doesn't. We need to go somewhere where she can."

"Fine, I'm coming with you then. Where you guys go, I go," Catalina replied. Demetri groaned.

"Catalina, I need you to stay here. You're my only sister. I don't know what I would do if you were to get hurt."

"You'd have Ambrosia. You'd soon enough forget about me," Catalina agonized, her voice slightly quivering.

"That's not true. You and Rose are the most important people in my life. I couldn't survive with only one of you, and I definitely could never forget you."

"Yes, you could, Dee. You can survive with Ambrosia. She's the love of your life. You two belong together. I see the way you look at each other. You two were meant for each other." Ambrosia couldn't help, but smile.

"Alright, Rose. I know your awake," Ambrosia suddenly heard Demetri grumble.

"Okay, fine. You caught me," Rose huffed in exasperation. Disappointed, she sat up and could see Catalina and Demetri strolling towards her. They sat on the edge of the bed with Demetri closest to Ambrosia.

"How much have you heard?" Catalina questioned.

"Everything from when you told Demetri you couldn't let us leave."

"I'm- I'm going to go. I'm dehydrated," Catalina stammered. She hurriedly walked out of the room and closed the door behind her, leaving Demetri and Ambrosia alone.

"Rose, I'm taking you away from here. We'll go far away where he can't find you. I'm going to talk to Callum later when he comes. I think it's a good idea for him to teach you how to protect yourself before we go. We'll leave later tonight."

"Demetri, I don't want your relationship with your parents to grow sour. I want them to be in your life. I believe everybody's parents should be unless circumstances say otherwise. I think we should stay. I'll just have to get over my feelings. I can stay here, Demetri. I can handle your mom. I just need to ignore her."

"No, Rose. I won't make you put up with this. I'm taking you away from here. No discussion about it. Callum will teach you how to protect yourself just to be on the safe side. We'll be leaving later tonight. I'll have your stuff packed and in my car by then. You might want to hurry and get dressed though. Today's Monday. We have school."

Ambrosia tried to object, but Demetri instantly disappeared. She groaned, searching through the bags filled with her clothes. Once she found a cute outfit, Ambrosia looked for the bathroom down the hall. She took a quick shower and prepared for the day ahead.

Downstairs, Ambrosia found no one in sight. Listening in for any sounds nearby, she ended up empty-handed; no talking, no sounds at all. Next to the living room, she found the kitchen in disbelief they would leave her all alone, knowing she was being hunted. Rose opened the fridge to find nothing inside. She should've known there'd be no food; they are vampires.

Instead of eating like she should be, Ambrosia decided to stroll around the house, checking out her whereabouts. She would never have expected the worn-down, dull exterior of this house to contain such a stunning inside. If she hadn't known its residents, she would have thought the place was a royal's safe house.
