"No!" Demetri cried after her. Rose stuck the landing and gazed back up at the window. There, Demetri stood, staring down at her with relief.
"I told you I'm better, and it's all because of you. You made me better; you made me heal," she smiled. Demetri gripped the window pane tightly.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack! I was about to jump out the window after you!"
"I'm fine. I made the landing." Rose gestured towards her body. "I'm still living. Haha, do you believe me now? You make me heal, Demetri," she lilted. Demetri shook his head.
"I don't think so. You're obviously getting better, but I'm not the reason why." Rose did her best to remain calm.
"I know you're the reason why. If you look at my back, I bet you'll see a huge difference. I'm a hundred times better since our kiss."
Demetri sighed, "Since you keep talking about it, I'll come down there and glance at your back. However, if it's the same, you'll drop all this." Rose nodded. She waited for him to come down the stairs as she watched his figure disappear, but her assumptions were proven wrong. Demetri jumped out his window instead.
"Angelic..." Rose murmured to herself, unable to take her eyes off him. Demetri landed two feet away and strolled over to her. From above, Rose could hear the angels' praise. She watched his hair dance in the wind as he stopped before her. Demetri spun Ambrosia around.
At the touch of her hem being lifted, Rose gasped and held her gown in place. A small gasp of his own escaped Demetri. He swiftly spun Rose around to face him. His caramel gaze held no emotion.
Surprisingly, Demetri smashed his lips against hers; Ambrosia recovered quickly from his attack. Her lips tingled at his passion that quickly overwhelmed her defensive mind. Demetri pulled away. He opened his eyes to see Ambrosia panting. Shaking off his urges, he grinned.
Seeing his idiotic amusement plastered on his face, Rose thought, No fair... You're not fazed at all. His eyes glimmered; she could tell he wanted to tell her something.
Once Rose regained her breath, Demetri exclaimed, "It's a miracle!"
"What is? Is my back better?"
"It's amazing! I don't know what could have happened. Your back- it's cleared! It's clear of everything! There's no colors or any odd textures," Demetri beamed. Ambrosia's eyes widened.
"Really? My back is completely cleared? It looks back to normal?!"
"It's back to normal!" Demetri grinned as though he won a million bucks.
"I told you. My back is healed because of you." Ambrosia began to bounce lightly on the soles of her feet. "I'm healing!" she cried, obviously excited.
Even though she knew the thought shouldn't cross her mind, Ambrosia couldn't help it; if Demetri is making her better, Rose could do what the text asked: she could save everyone from her strange attacker.
"Okay. I might be helping you heal. I might be."
"Not might, you are. I'm healing because of the kiss we shared."
Rolling his eyes, Demetri said, "If you say so."
Why won't Demetri accept it? Why won't he acknowledge that he's making me better?
Disappointed, Rose said, "Let's go back upstairs. I'm getting cold." Demetri nodded.
Noticing her gown was still pulled up in the back, Rose swiftly pulled it down, her face crimson. Demetri saw and scratched his cheek.
