Dinah wiped her sweaty palms on her shorts for the third time. Not only was it a thousand degrees in her house, she was nervous about calling Normani. She didn't want to say anything stupid and screw something up. She jumped when her phone began to ring and Normani's name and face showed up on her screen. The blonde took a deep breath before answering.
"Hey Mani," she said, her voice as steady as it could be.
"Oh my god your voice is so much better than I thought it would be." Dinah nearly screamed.
"You have a nice voice," she giggled.
"Your laugh is so adorable, please kill me now."
"Say my name, Mani."
"Dinah."
Dinah had to lean back so she didn't fall off the couch.
"I don't think I've ever heard someone say my name and make it sound so damn sexy," she said.
"All I said was 'Dinah'."
"But there's a certain ring to the way you say it, I like it."
"Fair point."
"Can you say the other name though?" Dinah asked, her voice suddenly a bit lower.
"Oh."
"Well?"
"Mami."
"Dear god."
"The amount of dirty thoughts that I know just went into your head scare me."
"Fight me."
"Aw, that's cute."
The two girls talked until the early hours of the morning, with Dinah falling asleep at the end of the call from exhaustion. Normani ended the call with a smile on her face.
