[Lauren💚]: i'm allowing mani to come if she feels like driving here

[Lauren💚]: then she's gonna change her mind right when we're already there like she always does

[Mani🐻]: yeah well it's relentless and it's all because she said she didn't want to go

[Mani🐻]: they weren't gonna stop and they were just attacking you
[Dinah🍑]: it happens all the time mani, it's not a big deal
[Mani🐻]: can i come over?
[Dinah🍑]: of course, do you really want to drive three hours again though? i can come see you if it's better for you
[Mani🐻]: you are so sweet
[Mani🐻]: but it's ok, i'll drive

[Dinah🍑]: okie dokie

Dinah lazily glanced at the time displayed on the cable box. It read 9:30. Normani had made her arrival at 1:30. Dinah and her did nothing for a while, up until both girls decided dinner was necessary. Dinah created an impromptu date plan and out they went. They both ate good and walked around downtown until they realized how late it had gotten. They drove back to Dinah's house where they immediately collapsed on to the couch.
Some random movie was playing on the tv and it was the only source of light in the area. Normani was contently cuddled up against Dinah's side, head on her chest. The blonde's eyes were heavy as she tried to focus on what was happening on the T.V screen. She was fighting sleep.
"Go to sleep, D," Normani said quietly.
"I'm not tired," she fought.
"Why're you fighting it?" Normani asked, sitting up so she could face Dinah. Dinah chewed her bottom lip in thought.
"When I did go to these parties, I was always too drunk to know what was going on with the other girls. But now that I'm not there, I'm worried something is gonna happen to them," she explained sheepishly. A smile crept on to Normani's face. She reached a hand up and placed it on Dinah's cheek, rubbing her thumb over the skin.
"My sweet girl," she said. Dinah's heart fluttered in her chest at the affectionate response.
"Do you think they're fine?" she asked.
"I'm sure they are, Ally watches over them like a hawk from what I've heard," Normani reassured. Dinah nodded but still felt uneasy about her friends. Normani gently pulled Dinah's head down and kissed her forehead. She couldn't help but smile. Normani looked at her with pure adoration.
"Are you ready to sleep now?" she asked. Dinah nodded, and with a yawn, led Normani to her room. This time it was Dinah who passed out almost instantly, clinging to Normani's side. The dark skinned girl was no longer tired. She decided to text Ally just in case.
[Mani🐻]: are things ok over there
She waited 20 minutes and when there was still no response, she began to worry. Her eyes were beginning to get heavy when she felt her phone buzz against her chest.
[Ally🙏]: sorry, lauren stole my phone and wouldn't give it back until i tricked her
[Ally🙏]: but yes, things are fine, lauren is pretty wasted but mila is mostly sober
[Mani🐻]: ok good i was just checking for d
[Ally🙏]: you're so good for her, if you haven't realized yet
[Ally🙏]: i don't remember the last time she was this consistently happy before she started talking to you
[Mani🐻]: i'm smiling too hard for 11:30 at night
[Ally🙏]: it's the truth
[Mani🐻]: too much sappiness
[Ally🙏]: i know i'm gonna be sick🤢
[Mani🐻]: love you als❤️❤️
[Ally🙏]: love you too manz💕
Normani was smiling in the darkness (which she found strange), and her smile only grew when she barely made out Dinah peacefully sleeping against her side. She instantly relaxed and fell asleep easily.
