I shrug my shoulders "I'm not sure, maybe with the Luna being pregnant he's just being overprotective?" I make it seem as though a question so she thinks I don't know either.

She frowns "well I wish he'd stop, it's been ages since I've been home and I'd like to hang out with my friends" she sighs.

I just rub the back of my neck, unsure what to say. She smiles at me, mutters a 'I'll see you later' and walks out the room. We may have been good friends when she left, but a lot has changed and I'm not sure I'm the same guy she remembers when she left.

In fact I knew I wasn't the same person that I was before she left. A lot of things had happened in my life since she had been gone.

I clean up the dishes and decide to go for a run.

When I return an hour later, I hang back in the woods as I watch Shane leaving the pack house, a suitcase in hand and two pack guards following behind him. I notice Diana on the porch, crying and although I know it's for the best I knew it must be hard for her.

As much as I wanted to go comfort her I decided against it, I went back to where I had changed and change back to human form and put on my clothes. I make my way to the back door, opening the door I come face to face with Cade. I wasn't really in the mood for one of his lectures so I attempted to walk past him but only came into contact with his shoulder.

"Kyan, I know you were just trying to do the right thing but we have rules around here for a reason" Cade said, not looking at me "you should have come straight to me".

I barely acknowledged what he said, I had already been reprimanded by the council, I didn't need him at me as well.

I nodded my head and grunted which seemed good enough for him because he moved out of my way. I knew what I should have done, just at the time I was too angry to focus and all my reasoning went out the window.

I went to grab the door handle to go out the main hall when I heard sobs on the other side, obviously Diana wasn't taking it too well. I decided not to go that way and opened the door to the rec room, discovering it mostly empty and the PS4 not in use I turned it on and sat down on the couch. Someone had the latest game Horizon Zero Dawn in and I decided to give it a go.

I think I must have played a good 20 minutes before I felt someone sit on the couch next to me "what are you playing?" Electra asked, curious.

"Horizon, Zero Dawn" I muttered as I sideways glanced at her.

"I've heard good things about this game" she nodded her head "pay attention, that robot almost got you!" She said, scolding me.

I dodged an attack before it had a chance to get me and stabbed it in its chest, effectively killing the robot. I smirked at Electra and she rolled her eyes.

"Don't get too cocky" she smiled and playfully punched my arm "so you're hiding out in here aren't you?" I could see her looking at me from the side of my eye.

"Something like that" I muttered, trying to drop the subject.

She scooted closer to me and whispered "you know I think what you did was the right thing, he needed someone to teach him a lesson".

I studied her face for a moment "if you really thought that you wouldn't be whispering" I smirked.

She looked at me in shock "it's not that, I just don't want Cade to hear me, I've noticed you guys don't hang out as much anymore and he thinks the way you went about it was wrong" she stood up from her seat "I don't want to cause anymore tension between you two" she half smiled, my attention was now gone from the game.

I smiled at her "maybe he's right about what I did" I paused "but we're fine, we just both have a lot more responsibilities now, it's hard to spend time together as just friends instead of Alpha and Beta".

She looked distracted for a moment before her eyes lit up "we should hang out more, like we used to" she grinned "it's going to be fun".

I ran my hand through my hair and scratched the back of my head "I ah... I'm not sure that would be a good idea".

"Why not?" She asked, curious. When I was silent she clapped her hands "well, considering you can't come up with a reason why we can't, I think we should, just like old times".

I groaned as I thought of the trouble she was most likely going to get me in "yeah, ha... just like old times" I tried my best to smile but I knew that if I get seen around her too much it's going to get back to Cade eventually.

Not that I had been the only one warned away from her, I just had a reputation around the pack and Cade didn't like the idea of me being around her.
