Epilogue

Today had been a long day... I was looking forward to getting home and seeing Electra, every moment without her felt like agony

I could see our little cabin in the distance, it had held up well the past 6 years and has only needed a very small amount of maintenance

I could smell Electra before I opened the door and I already felt comforted by it. I open the door and notice Electra standing by the sink washing the dishes

"Hey" I say as I walk up behind her and wrap my arms around her enlarged stomach

She leans back into me "hey" she says as she sighs when I start kissing her neck. She lets out a soft moan "I've missed you so much"

"I missed you too" I say as I place my chin on her shoulder and look down at her stomach "I hope you've been good to your mum today little guy" I say as I rub her stomach

Electra turns so she's facing me "he's been fine, only kicked me in the bladder a couple of times today" she laughs

I rub her stomach with a smile and then kiss her "can I show you how much I missed you up in our room?" I say as I kiss her deeper

She pulls away and looks me in the eyes "I wish we could but my brothers out back" she looks kind of sad

"Great, he can watch the kids while we go have some fun" I say as I grab her hand and try to pull her to the bedroom

"Kyan" she says sternly "we have people coming over in half an hour, I have to watch the food" she lets go of my hand and heads over to the oven "go and keep my brother company, you're too much of a distraction to stay here" she laughs

"I knew you wanted me" I say to her with a wink "alright, I'll go rescue him from the kids" I say as I go to the back door

I open it and immediately Eva looks up from her sandcastle "daddy!" She shouts and runs over to me

I pick her up and hug her "hey princess" I say as I start walking over to Jacob and his mate Isobel.

My son Jaxon looks up at me from the sandpit and smiles "Dad!" He says as he gets up and runs over as fast as his little legs will carry him

"Hey my big man" I say as I scoop him up in my other arm and kiss his forehead

I look over at Jacob and Isobel "I hope these two haven't been giving you two much trouble" I laugh as Eva crosses her arms

"I'm not trouble daddy" she says as I place her down on the ground

"I know hun" I say as I pat her on the head

I walk over to the sandpit and place Jaxon down.

Jacob shakes my hand "nice to see you again" he smiles and Isobel does too "the kids haven't been any trouble at all" he says as he sits down in the sandpit next to Jaxon

"They're getting so big" Isobel says as she looks at my two kids playing in the sand. In her arms she holds her baby Aaron "I can't wait for Aaron to be old enough to play with them" she grins down proudly at her son

"He'll be up and walking before you know it" I say as I look at my two kids and think of how fast they're growing up

I hear the door open behind me "Blake!" Eva calls out and gets up to meet her cousin "where's Erin?" She says as she looks behind Blake after giving him a hug

Blake walks away from Eva and comes over to me "hi uncle Kyan, uncle Jacob and aunt Isobel"

We all say hi to him as well "how are you, Blake?" I ask as he sits down in the sandpit

"I'm good" he says as he gets preoccupied with helping Jaxon make a sandcastle

Emily, Cade and Erin come outside soon after and I greet them all with a smile. Emily says hi but goes back inside to help Electra

Cade walks over to me and puts out his hand and I shake it "long time no see" he laughs

I chuckle "an hour isn't that long" I grin

Our relationship has changed a lot in the last few years. It's become stronger and we no longer have any tension between us

Electra and Cade's dad was the next to come out the door "looks like we've all been kicked out of the kitchen" he says as he walks over with a chuckle

"Mr Harris" I say as I shake his hand. They had been on a trip and came back for Eva's birthday

"Where's mum?" Cade asks as he looks behind his dad

"She wanted to help in the kitchen" he smiles "she loves to cook"

We all sit around the sandpit until we're called in for dinner about half an hour later. We all sit around the table and have conversations about anything and everything

We all finished and when we got everything cleaned up we told Eva to sit at the end of the table

Electra lights the five candles on Eva's cake and we all start singing. Electra places the cake in front of Eva and we finish singing her happy birthday

"Make a wish" Electra says as she smiles at our daughter

She thinks for a moment and she blows out the candles "I think my wish already came true" she grins

"What was it sweetheart?" Electra asks her

We were all curious what the wish was

"To have the best family ever" she says with a big smile on her face

I smile back at her and look at the people around me "I think so too" I say as I pick her up for a hug

I didn't think I could ever be this happy...
