August 28

The sticky couches, tanning, half naked human beings at the beach with satan heated sand and sweat crawling down foreheads. The result of a long summer is praised but frowned upon at the same time by many. While the sun strikes Alex, she walks up the pier and sits down at the edge, with her toes just barely touching the tense water. Her only wear being a two piece, blue bikini with a little bag around her being and Star Wars sunglasses she got in the, now dead, city. She moves her feet like a little girl and looks up to the bright sky.

She takes a deep breath in, slightly lets it out and gives off a huge smile. Her dimple is noticeable which gives Tate the opportunity to give it a huge kiss being sitting down beside her. Letting out a giggle, she gives him a kiss back and sets her head on his shoulder. Alexandra looks out towards the sea water, takes in the image of waves splashing upon each other and the sun bouncing off the surface of the hot liquid and hitting her glasses rim. She smiles once more until Tate says something.

"I brought us food." Tate said with a smile.

"FOOD!" Alex blurts out. She lifts her head from his shoulder with such speed she actually felt her neck crack a little. She laughed in her head and grinned enough so she crinkled her nose and her eyes were squinted. The little girl stopped before Tate would stop her, hoping he didn't. Lifting up her glasses, she looked over her shoulder to check what's going on around her.

A little boy running across the platform with his friends who are giggling and smiling wide and bright. With the food stands now opening it seems like an army storming the gates of a castle that is a safe haven for all and it's up for grabs. The vending machines are more like a horse shed and with people not wanting a horse, not many are there but just enough so it's not left out. With a park for little kids not too far, Alex can see them walking from and towards that direction and examines them.

"You checking out the kids?" Tate interrupts.

"What?" Alex turns to him. "Oh, no..."

"Alex."

"Okay, maybe. Nothing wrong with checking if they're gonna be attractive when they grow up or not."

"Um," Tate pauses. "Sure." He drags it out as long as possible before taking a bite in his chicken finger.

"What?" Alex does a fake frown.

"Nada." Tate takes another bite. "Nom."

"Wha-aaaa-t?" Alex pressed her head on his shoulder and nudges.

"Nothing, nothing." Tate laughs it off and offers her fries, which she takes.

"Hmph, my fries..." She eats them one by one. "Did you hear what they're going to do with schools?"

"Yeah," Tate swallows his chicken. "They're going to keep it closed until furthur notice because of that scare we had a few days ago. They don't want to take any chances, I guess. I also heard a new kind of class just in case of an outbreak? I'm not sure. Something like that."

"And just what I felt like everything was going back to normal."

"Yeah, I feel you." Tate gives her a hug. "I'll try to make sure it lasts for a long time," he gives her a long kiss on the forehead. "I promise you that."

"Thanks, babe." Alex gave him a long kiss back. "Now. Food." Alex took her share of food, placed it on her lap and started eating it.

"Someone is hungry."

"..." Alex glared at Tate and "HISSSSS!"

"Did you..." Tate opened his eyes wide. "Did you just cat hiss me?
