Valentines Day is...

Valentines Day

Is it just a commercialized holiday? Or does it actually hold any value?

It can be taken in different ways, but let's be honest, we all like receiving gifts from our partners. At times we like to be gifted material things, dinner out, something out of the ordinary. I partly think the holiday however has become somewhat of a cultural event that has pressured many couples to give gifts to each other in fear of being left out within their community, or friends. Perhaps it reaches to a competition of out doing other woman's or men's partners. Honestly, people want to feel special to feel appreciated.

You shouldn't wait just for the holiday to take it upon yourself to gift, neither expect it when you see others doing it. The gifts don't have to be pricey to show how much love, it should be about the consideration, sometimes a gift that shows the effort is much more valuable than a generic gift that some or any asshole can buy with money. If you are together because of how much he or she makes, than I'd say its too superficial, but do as you please.

Some good gifts would be something you hold as personal between you too, showing you remember, your first song..a movie you both like and spend quality time with each other. Make them breakfast, clean the house, some woman would agree on that being sexy  The more effort and thought you put into it the more your partner will cherish.

Be honest with each other, it's good to be surprised, but also it's good to communicate with each other to know what things you really enjoy. Don't be afraid to be honest but keep in mind to be careful with their feelings. Be patient.
