Gheebah(backbitting)

Backbitting as we all say its taking ill behind a muslim brother's back.It is when we talk ill or mention faults of others when they are not around which he will not like when he hears it.Praising or commending a person is not referred to as backbiting.

"O you who believe! Avoid much of the assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy and do not backbite some of you to others. Would like one of you to eat the flesh of his brother, dead? Nay, you would hate it. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is Oft-Returning, Most Merciful."

Many of us backbite and gossip without thinking. We think it is a minor matter, however, Allah reminds us to be careful, for even though we think we are doing something small, it is in fact very large in the sight of Allah!

The Prophet (saw) once gave counsel to Abu Dharr (ra) saying: "O Abu Dharr! Beware of backbiting, for backbiting is graver than adultery (zina')." Abu Dharr (ra) said: "Why is that so, O Messenger of Allah?" He (saw) replied: "That is because when a man commits adultery and then repents to God, God accepts his repentance. However, backbiting is not forgiven until forgiven by its victim." [Al-Hurr al-'Amili, Wasai'l al-Shi'ah, vol. 8, hadith no. 18312]

The prophet(saw) also said: "Whoever backbites a Muslim spoils his fasts and breaks his wudu', and shall come on the Day of Resurrection with his mouth's stench more putrid than a carcass', and it shall irk those who are with him in his station (mawqif). If he dies before repenting, his death is like that of one who dies while considering permissible that which is prohibited by God, the Exalted and the Glorious." [Al-Hurr al-'Amili, Wasa'il al-Shi'ah, vol. 8, hadith no. 16316]

When backbiting ingresses into our conduct, it leaves adverse effects on the soul. One of these is cultivation of enmity and hatred towards the other which gradually increases.

At the time of death, when the veils of the angelic realm (al-malakut) are lifted, the backbiter may be brought to witness the high station of his victims before Allah(sw).😢

SubhanaAllah!!Dear brothers and sisters beware of this grave sin.May Allah guide us all against it In shaa Allah!!Ameen😃

The night sky stood an inky canopy of darkness freckled only by the fewest stars where just hours ago had been a blue summers day.I stood by the window night chill seeping through as I stared at the stars winking like the sequins on a dark velvet gown.

My mind was still unable to grasp the fact that I will be leaving the following day.Believe it or not I feel a little low as the thought of leaving mamaa behind all alone. The past few months passed in a blur and mom did it in her best to enjoy with me.It is like I saw that side of her for the first time and I could not thank Allah enough for that.

My siblings were all happy and wished me well .The best part being Naseem maan that girl is one big drama queen.
