As I was getting Hope ready to meet her family, I could hear the Mikaelsons arguing on the porch outside.
"What's the hold up?" Kol asked. "All right, we rescued Nik, we escaped mortal danger. Why are we not on a private jet to St. Tropez? You can catch up on the last five years when we're on our way. I assure you, you haven't missed much."
"Circumstances have changed," Elijah told him. "We will leave here soon enough."
"We have a niece to consider," Rebekah added.
"Kol has a point," Freya said. "We need to put an ocean between us and Marcel Gerard as soon as possible."
"We're not going anywhere today," Klaus told his siblings. "I want one day of peace with my daughter before I uproot her."
"Any delay is a risk," Freya told him.
"One day. We're in the middle of nowhere, the house is cloaked, we weren't followed and I'm not asking!"
I opened the door and led Hope outside, everyone stopped to look at us, mainly Hope. "Everybody, look who's awake."Hope was nervous and awkward. "Hello."
Klaus walked closer and smiled, nervously. "Hello."
Hope looked up at me. "Mom, can I go play in the garden?""Yeah," I said. "Sure."
Hope ran off into the garden and Klaus watched her leave before looking at me. I gave him an apologetic smile, sighing.

Klaus and I were standing on the porch alone, watching Hope paint.
"What did you tell her?" Klaus asked.
"I told her that you're a hybrid like me," I answered. "I also told her that you're very old, I told her what I promised I'd tell her, that her father would do anything for her. Other than that, she's seven. I didn't share the gory details, if that's what you're asking."
