It was now Christmas Eve. All of Hailee's family came over to her house including Shawn's and Haley's. Shawn and Haley's families had always come over to the Steinfeld's for Christmas.

Their Christmas Eve day usually went a little bit like this: Everyone came over at 11 am. Griffin and the guys went out for a spin in their cars a little outside of their community. Hailee, the girls and the young ones made Christmas cookies, reindeer food, set up a photoshoot and got the house ready for the evening and the next day. <The last few sentences were in no intention of being sexist. It just has to be this way to set up the story for the next few chapters. You'll see :) >

It was now 3pm. Hailee got a text from her brother saying

Griffin: Gone driving with the bros. Tell mom we'll be back to wash up for dinner. Love ya sis <3 Thx

Hailee: K. I told her. Love ya too bro <3

Hailee and Griffin always said 'love ya' at the end of their texts because Hailee was usually away for a long time and they wouldn't see each other. So, it became a habit of theirs.

Griffin's POV (still written in 3rd person):

All the guy cousins were out in their cars going fast outside of the community where the Steinfelds live. Chase, Griffin's older cousin, was in the backseat of their uncle's car. He thought Griffin looked cool, alone in his car, so he took an Instagram story of Griffin and posted it.

Chloe's POV:

Chloe was sitting in her truck on her phone. Today was the day she planned to finish her revenge on Hailee. She knew where all the Steinfelds where today. She knew their Christmas Eve routine because she used to be invited to them.

Chloe was looking at Griffin's social media. "I know you're around your community driving Griffin. But where exactly are you?" Chloe said evillly to herself. To Chloe's luck, she saw that Chase had just posted an Insta story of Griffin in his car. The street sign was right about his car. "Now I've got you racer boy."

Hailee's POV:

"Okay Stella. It's time to put the icing on the cookies!" Hailee called for her little cousin. Stella was almost 5 years old. She had always taken a liking to Hailee.

Hailee was about to show Stella how to ice the cookies when she got an emergency call on her phone. It didn't show the caller ID so she only knew that it was probably from someone close to her who had trusted her to put her name on their emergency contact.

"Stella, baby, I've got to take an important call alright? So Berlin is going to help you and your other cousins okay?"

Stella nodded. Hailee pick up the phone with shaky hands.

"Hello?"

The words that came after became the reason why this was the worst Christmases ever for the Steinfelds.
