Hailee, her parents, and Berlin were now sitting in the doctor's office. Some of the rest of their family was outside in the waiting room. Cheri and Pete both knew this room very well. It was the room where they always get bad news. Of course, their children didn't know this so they kept this to themselves.

After a few minutes of waiting, Doctor Mathews comes in. She scoots the tissue box closer to the family, hoping they wouldn't notice. Doctor Mathews was also the same doctor for Hailee so the family knew Griffin was in good hands.

"For those of you who don't know, Griffin was in his car when he was hit on his side by a truck. Not much time had passed by the time our team had gotten there. We were able to take him to the hospital quickly to get him into surgery. Our other doctors are very skilled and-" Doctor Mathews was cut of by Hailee.

"I NEED TO KNOW! Is he dead or not! Rip the band aid off!"

"Yes. Griffin didn't survive the crash. I am so sorry."

Berlin ran out of the room and Hailee ran after her.

"Okay. I am sure you guys did everything you could do." Cheri said between sobs.

Hailee ran after Berlin but she was too fast. Shawn stopped Hailee. He saw that her face was stained with tears. She shook her head telling him that he didn't make it. Shawn hugged her.

When Hailee ran out of tears, she started to talk to Shawn.

"Shawn" Hailee said quietly "if I don't get a transplant soon, I will die and then Berlin will probably leave my parents and then my parents will become childless. I can't let that happen to them. I had always gone over with Griffin what to do if I die early. But we never prepared for his death. I have to stay alive and I can't guarantee that to anyone."

"Hey. Hey. Don't think about that right now okay. Everything will work out in the end. And I will always be here for you and your family. Don't forget that."

Hailee fell asleep with Shawn's arms wrapped around her.

Hailee's parents made it back out to the waiting room. They had to wait for the detectives to figure out how the crash happened. The detectives would report back the them when they found out. They also had to find out what the Steinfelds wanted to do with the body.

"Excuse me, are you the Steinfelds?"

"Yes we are" Pete said while nudging his wife to wake up.

"Okay great. I'm detective Laura and this is my partner, Chris. We've found out what happened to your son. Well, we actually got the person who did it. I think you guys should talk to her and ask her what happened. I think it would be better coming from her."

"Okay. Take us to her." Hailee, who was now awake, said.

Detective Laura and Chris took Hailee, Shawn, and Hailee's parents to another hospital room. Berlin was with Haley.

The family walked in. They were shocked to see who did it. She was also badly wounded and was hooked up to a lot of machines.

"Chloe?"
