"Did you get him?" Liam asked, as she entered his apartment, not stopping to slow down, heading for the kitchen.
Since the guy they needed to get didn't show up at the club the night before, Sofia was woken up just hours after falling asleep, by her father, to get him this afternoon. Her father had tracked him down to a small pub in the bad side of town. Sofia dressed as though she should be on a street corner, and walked into the bar to seduce him out.
"Yes," she answered, turning on the sink, and throwing her arm under it.
"Sofia," Danielle gasped, "What happened?"
Danielle and Liam rushed to Sofia's side, as she washed the blood from the abrasions on her arm off. Danielle tried to grab her arm, to get a better look.
"Don't!" Sofia barked, pulling her arm away from Danielle, and noticing that Harry, Niall, Louis, and Eleanor were also all present, and watching her. She grabbed a towel from above the sink.
"Sofia, please let me look at it," Danielle said gently, "Some of these cuts look pretty bad, and they could get infected."
"I'm fine," Sofia mumbled.
"Sofia –" Danielle tried to protest.
"Look Danielle," Sofia snapped, turning towards her sister in law with a glare, "I appreciate your need to baby everyone, and maybe my brother needs you to clean up after him, but I fucking don't!" She shoved Danielle away from her, continuing to glare while she did so.
Danielle stumbled back from Sofia, her eyes wide and hurt, and for a second Sofia felt bad, until she didn't. Liam caught Danielle, glaring at Sofia, as he stepped up to her.
"Sofia, knock it off," he barked, his eyes narrowed and his jaw locked, as though he were ready for a fight, "She was only trying to help you out, you don't need to talk to her like that."
"I don't need her help," Sofia hissed, "And more importantly, I don't want it."
"You didn't have to shove her!"
"She should've backed off!"
"What happened?" Zayn barked suddenly, interrupting the siblings, as he slammed into the apartment, and headed right for Sofia, "Jay sent me a text saying he thought you got hurt."
Zayn reached for her arm, and Sofia tried to pull away, but Liam had grabbed her elbow, and forced her to keep it still.
"You're going to let me look at your arm," Zayn barked, "And if you fight me, we're gonna have a serious problem."
Gently, Liam removed the towel, and looked at the cuts. Zayn let out a groan, before looking up at Sofia.
"What happened?" he asked, everyone's eyes were on her.
"Dad and Jay were late," Sofia said quietly, ignoring their stares, and trying to ignore the pain in her arm as well, "And ... I didn't want to leave the alleyway with this guy. He wanted to go back to his apartment, but I knew I couldn't. I said no, he got aggressive."
"How aggressive?" Niall asked, walking towards her and noticing her ripped shirt. Sofia sighed, tugging at her clothes, feeling a bit insecure under all of their stares.
"Aggressive enough that I got hurt," Sofia spat out, causing Niall to roll his eyes, "Well I didn't get that hurt... but..."
"There's glass in this," Zayn said softly, "We have got to get this cleaned out properly. El, can you get the first aid kit?"
Eleanor agreed to get the first aid kit, and Danielle went with her to do so, using it as an excuse to get away from Sofia.
"Zayn, it's fine. Stop it," Sofia said, pulling her arm away, but he grabbed it, more harshly then he intended, and she hissed loudly in pain. Zayn immediately released her arm, and Liam took her arm gently, examining her wrist.
"I think it's sprained, Sofia," Liam said quietly, shaking his head, "This is why you shouldn't go in by yourself – just in case shit like this happens."
"It's okay," Louis said, placing his arm on Liam's shoulder, knowing how protective he got of Sofia. Liam was starting to worry, he was starting to get worked up, "We'll just wrap it up, Li. She'll be alright."
"I WON'T BE ALRIGHT! I AM ALRIGHT!" Sofia screeched, "Stop acting like this is a big deal, it's not!"
"It is a big deal!" Liam cried, "Sofia, you're clothes are ripped, your wrist in sprained, and your bleeding! This could've been so much worse, you're lucky it wasn't."
"It has nothing to do with luck," a voice growled, causing Sofia to cringe. She turned to see her father standing in the doorway, she noticed blood on him and Jay, but he only had eyes for her, and those eyes were set in a cruel glare.
He stalked toward her in anger, and she stepped away on instinct, but he was too fast, grabbing her hurt arm and causing her to cry out in pain.
"Careful dad!" Liam cried out, his eyes wide, trying to pull Sofia away from him.
"This shouldn't have happened," her father growled at her, "You shouldn't have gotten hurt." Sofia didn't say anything; she didn't know what to say. For a second she thought maybe he was concerned for her, but then she thought better of it. He was never concerned about her.
"If you had been on your game, you wouldn't have gotten hurt. You could've easily taken him, if you were taking your training seriously!" her father spat out at her.
"I am taking it seriously," Sofia cried, "He was bigger and I wasn't prepared for you to be late!"
"THESE THINGS HAPPEN SOFIA!" her father shouted, causing her to
cringe, "I'M DISAPOINTED IN YOU! LOOK AT YOUR FUCKING ARM! YOU FUCKING IDIOT! IT'S YOUR OWN FAULT YOU GOT HURT!"
"I didn't want to give anything away," Sofia hissed, "If I took him, he would know something was up..."
"Oh, so you being weak is now an acting strategy?" her father said in a cruel voice, "Don't make excuses for your shit job today."
"Dad, stop..." Liam said softly, "She got it done, didn't she?"
"And she got hurt in the process, Liam," her father barked, before turning back to glare at Sofia, "What use are you to me if your injured?"
"I'm sorry," Sofia said softly, her cheeks red from embarrassment. It was never good enough for him, and he always liked humiliating her when he got the chance. His hand came down on her face so fast; Sofia didn't even see it coming. She grabbed her cheek, and hissed again.
"I don't want you to be sorry," her father growled, his voice low and dangerous, "I want you to be better. You need to get to the gym today."
"But I have another job tonight, and I didn't get any sleep," Sofia protested.
"Well, who's fault is that, Sofia?" her father quipped, causing Sofia to sigh. She wanted to tell him it was his fault, he made her go to the club last night. She wanted to tell him that he woke her up early this morning, causing her to get no sleep. She wanted to scream at him, and tell him that he was wrong. But she didn't, because most of all, she just wanted to please him, and she was failing at that. He hit her because she failed.
"Harry," her father barked, "How was she in training yesterday? Did she get you down?" Sofia closed her eyes, waiting for Harry to respond. She hadn't gotten him down, she wasn't even close to getting him down, but she had tried. She had worked really hard. But that wouldn't matter to her father, how hard she worked never mattered.
"She did really good yesterday," Harry said, causing Sofia to look up at him in surprise. Harry could've used this as a way to get her back for last night, he could have easily made her life just as miserable as she had made his, but he didn't.
"I asked you if she got you down," her father growled, "But I take it from you answer, she didn't. So, you can take her back to the gym and you can work her until it's time for the job tonight or until she gets you down."
"Dad, you're going to wear her out," Liam hissed, his voice was angry.
"I'm making her stronger, Liam," her father barked, before turning back to Sofia, "Right Sofia?"
She didn't agree, she wanted to tell him that working out wasn't going to make her feel strong, it was going to wear her out. But that would just disappoint him some more, and Sofia couldn't do that. So she agreed with him.
"Right," she replied quietly, "I'll just go get dressed for the gym."
"Good girl," her father said, a small smile on his face as Sofia got up, and walked back in Liam's guest room.
"What about her arm?" Liam barked
"She can't cover her arm for the job, leave it," Geoff said, "It's her own fault, now she has to deal with the consequences."
"And Harry," he continued, causing Harry to look up at him, "Don't let her use the arm as an excuse." Sofia didn't hear Harry's reply, as she entered the room.
She was tired. Her bones hurt, her muscles hurt. Her body ached, and she could feel everything starting to turn off. She needed a day off, she needed to recover. But, above all of this, she just wanted to make him proud of her. She had disappointed her father today, and even though she did the best she could, she still fell short. She always fell short, she was never good enough. Pushing all of her hurt and thought aside, she got changed, determined to get tonight right.
***
"You alright, man?" Louis asked Harry, who had ice on ice on his shoulder, because in their last fight, Sofia had practically yanked it out of its socket.
"Yeah," Harry replied, "It's not that bad."
"So, I take it she got you down?" Liam asked quietly, leaning on the counter.
"Yeah, there was no stopping her once we got in the ring," Harry said, "It was like she wasn't even there. I kept talking to her, telling her think, to slow down, but it was like she didn't even hear me. She was vicious. She hurt herself more then she hurt me. She didn't even care about keeping her arm safe. Even if she did get me down, she went about it in the most wreckless way she could."
"Yeah, that's Sofia," Louis said quietly.
"I hope she doesn't have to fight anyone tonight," Harry said quietly, glancing around for any sign of her, he didn't want her to hear this, "She doesn't have it in her. She's exhausted, man."
"He's gonna break her, and he doesn't even care," Liam spat out, "I love my father man, and he knows what he doing... but..."
"Liam, we know," Louis said calmly. Liam struggled with how his father ran things, especially when it came to Sofia. Liam's priority was always safety, especially when it came to his sister. Liam saw her as his 16-year-old sister, not someone to train to be a perfect fighter. Liam and his father didn't see eye to eye on much, but most of it Liam could get over. But, Sofia, Liam couldn't get over that.
"I'm gonna loose her," Liam said, quietly, his eyes and voice sad, "Hell, I'm already loosing her."
"Are you okay, Emily?" Eleanor asked, watching as Emily paced the living room, Katie sitting on the edge of the couch.
"I'm just nervous. I don't like raves," Emily said quietly, "And I've heard some girls get drugged ... and ..."
"Oh my god," Sofia hissed, coming out of the guest room with Zayn, rolling her eyes, "Emily, stop."
"Sofia!" Liam barked, "She's allowed to be nervous."
"I can't afford you to be nervous," Sofia said, ignoring Liam, "I can't afford for you to have second thoughts. I don't even know why you're nervous; all you have to do is have fun. You're only there to make it look like I came with friends, it's not like I actually need you there."
"Sofia, stop it," Zayn hissed, yanking her, "You're being rude." Emily was staring at the floor, she hated when Sofia got like this. When nothing mattered, but the job.
"I'm being honest," Sofia snapped back, "We don't have time for nerves. And I don't have time to baby people through this job." She turned to Emily, glaring, "If you're going to be a little bitch about this, don't bother coming..."
"I wasn't –" Emily tried to protest, her voice quiet.
"The only one being a little bitch, is you," Niall barked, as he got up from the couch, putting a comforting hand on Emily's arm, "Save the cold bitch part for the job, there's no need for it here."
"Why are you even here again?" Sofia asked, causing Niall to roll his eyes.
"Good one, Sofia," he said, his voice deadpanned. Sofia turned from him, walking into the kitchen.
"How's your arm?" Harry asked, looking at her arm.
"Better then your shoulder," Sofia replied, pulling a bottle of vodka from the cabinets.
"I knew I should've gone after your mouth today," Harry growled, causing Sofia to snort in laughter.
Taking down a shot glass, she began to pour herself a drink, but a hand reached out and grabbed it.
"You're underage," Liam snapped.
"I drink all the times in the club, dad lets me," Sofia protested.
"You're not in the clubs," Liam said, "You're in my flat. And I'm not dad, I don't allow underage drinking here." Sofia's jaw clenched, and her eyes narrowed on him.
"You need a clear head anyway," Zayn said, "This place is going to be crowded, and loud, and there's going to be people tripping and drugs, and people trying to do crazy shit."
"Great," Emily mumbled.
"I know what there's going to be," Sofia said, "It'll be fine. Jake is already looking forward to seeing me, I sent him a text. This is going to be easy."
"Remember, stay hydrated, and always make get your own drinks," Zayn said to her, before looking at Katie and Emily, "You guys too. Be careful. Some crazy shit can go down at raves."
"Will you please stop worrying?" Sofia said, grinning up at him. He leaned down to kiss her, and she kissed him back, wrapping her arms around his neck, and pulling him into her.
"Everything is going to be fine," she whispered, looking up at him and fluttering her eyelashes.
"I'm just looking out," Zayn said, "I don't want anything to happen to you."
"It won't," Sofia said, before getting a cheeky glint in her eye, "Well, you can happen to me later..." Zayn grinned, wrapping his arms around her, and pulling her into him. He loved it when she initiated them getting together, it made him feel like she wanted him too, even if she couldn't show it like he did.
"You really have to work on your pick up lines," Louis said, his eyes narrowed, watching the two of them, he hated the two of them together, and he didn't trust Sofia, "They suck."
"She doesn't have to pick me up," Zayn said, with a smile, causing Sofia to smile widely and wink at Louis.
"It's true, he's all mine," Sofia said, before turning to Zayn and kissing him hard, causing everyone to shake their heads and moan in disgust. No one appreciated the two of them together, knowing full well that Zayn was being used, and was too blinded by his friendship and love for Sofia to really see it.
***
"You're different," Jake said to her, over the loud music, as they leaned against the bar.
"What do you mean?" Sofia asked
"I don't know, it's like you lost your innocence or something," Jake said, "You used to come off as sweet, but now you just seem like your
trouble.
"I've always been trouble," Sofia said laughing, but he was right.
"I'm sure," Jake said, with a smile, "And I like trouble. But I don't know, I remember loving your laugh and the way your eyes lit up when you were talking, where did that go?"
"I guess I just grew up," Sofia said, shrugging.
"You're only sixteen!" Jake laughed, "You're not that old!"
Sofia laughed too, going along with him, but she didn't feel sixteen. She had found Jake soon after entering the rave, leaving Emily and Katie by themselves, to try and get him alone. It had taken him a little bit, but he finally asked her to dance with him. And then, when she pulled away to get a drink at the bar, he followed her, sitting next to her, and leaning in so that they could talk. She could see it in his eyes, she had him.
"So how did you get this whole thing started?" Sofia asked, looking around the rave, "And how many in here are fucked on molly?"
"Almost all of them," Jake answered, with a sly grin, "I'm making tons of money. It's insane. It's an easy way to cash, Sofia. It's unbelievable." Sofia nodded as though she were interest, but he only thought was that the ladder he was climbing to quick cash was going to get him killed.
"Sofia," a voice cried, and Sofia turned to see Katie. She looked upset and nervous.
"What are you doing?" Sofia hissed, "I was just about to land this."
"I'm sorry – but you have to come quick," Katie said, "It's Emily."
"Will you excuse me a minute?" Sofia asked Jake.
"Yeah, I'm going to go back to my office, meet me there," Jake said, looking at Katie, "When you're done. I'd like some peace and quiet with you."
"Perfect," Sofia said, "I'll meet you back there."
She turned back to getting, angry and frustrated and wondering what could be so important.
"What is the matter with you?" Sofia hissed, as Katie grabbed her hand, pulling her through people.
"I'm sorry, I know you're on a job, but you have to help," Katie said, pulling Sofia into the bathroom.
"Help with what?" Sofia asked, before glancing down and seeing Emily on the floor, her eyes wide and her teeth chattering.
"I think someone gave her something," Katie said, crouching in front of Emily, "She can't talk, but she's shaking and freaking out. I think she's on something."
"How the fuck did that happen?" Sofia said, crouching down, next to Katie.
"I don't know!" Katie cried, getting upset.
"Don't fucking get emotional," Sofia hissed, "It won't help anything."
"Sofia, there's something wrong with her!"
"Clearly," Sofia snapped, rolling her eyes, "Em? Em? Can you hear me? Emily?"
Emily couldn't say anything, she just continued to shake, but she couldn't hold her head up. They needed to get her out of here, and fast.
"What do we do?" Katie asked, "Do we call someone? Do we take her out by ourselves?"
"WE?!" Sofia cried, "There is no we. I have a job to get done, Kate. And I'm literally minutes away from landing it."
"Sofia, what about Emily?" Katie cried, "I can't get her out of here by myself."
"You're going to have to!"
"I need your help! She needs your help!" Katie cried out, getting more upset by the word, "We're your friends and we need you!"
Sofia's jaw locked, and her eyes narrowed, as she stood up, staring down at the two of them. Katie cringed as she noticed how dark Sofia's eyes had gotten.
Sofia should call everything to a stop. She should help pick Emily off the floor, and get her out of here. She should calm Katie down, and promise her that they would all get out of there safely. She should take Emily somewhere safe, and stay with her until she knew she would be okay. She should hunt down the drugs in the rave, and see what they were dealing with. But, she wasn't going to do any of this.
She wasn't going to help them; she was going to leave them to deal with it themselves.
"I can't be your friend right now," Sofia hissed, glancing at Emily, "I'm on a job and I have to get it done. Get her out of here, call someone. You're
going to have to do something, but you're gonna have to do it without me."
"Sofia –" Katie growled, standing up, and pulling out her phone to call for help, "How can you do this? We're your oldest friends! She's your best friend!"
Sofia looked away from her, before glancing down at Emily who had begun to cry. Sofia wondered what she was seeing or how fucked up she really was.
"You're slowing me down," Sofia said quietly, "Get her out of here before she gets worse." And with that, Sofia turned from her friends, and walked out of the bathroom, trying to find her way back to Jake, and to finish the job.
***
"I'm sorry," Sofia apologized, the sweat dripping from her, as they stepped out into the cold night, "I just needed some air."
"It's okay," Jake said, following her out, they had just got done dancing some more on the dance floor, "I know your first time to these kind of things can be overwhelming, was your friend okay?"
"She was fine," Sofia lied, walking a few paces away from him, and looking down the street to the alleyway she was supposed to deliver him.
"Not trying to get away from me, are you?" Jake asked, a sweet smile on his face. Sofia turned back to him, matching his smile.
"Of course not," Sofia said, "I just fancy a walk, that's all."
"You shouldn't walk alone," Jake said, grabbing her hand gently, "I'll walk with you."
Sofia felt a pang in her heart. Jake was the perfect guy to hook and bait. He was nice and polite, exactly the kind of guy who wouldn't see it coming. Jake had been so nice to her tonight. He had made sure she stayed hydrated, and wasn't too aggressive when they danced. He had been polite and kind, and genuinely interested in her. They talked about school and how he used to have a crush on her. She glanced down at their hands, and wondered how she was supposed to hand this boy off to her father. He was just a few years older then him, and he wasn't causing anyone harm, except her father.
Jake led her down the street, and Sofia followed, their hands intertwined, the alleyway getting closer and closer.
"So, what made you text me?" Jake asked, looking down at her.
"I had just heard that you ran this thing," Sofia said shrugging, "And I wanted to see you again. I wanted to see how you were doing."
She was lying. She had no interest in seeing Jake again, and she had no interest in his rave. She didn't text him because she was curious about how he was doing. She was using his feelings for her to kill him. She was taking advantage of him, in order to get ahead.
"And what do you think?" Jake asked, a small smile on his face that made Sofia feel like she was going to be sick.
"Of what?" she asked, keeping up the act.
"Of the rave, of me?" Jake asked
"The rave was cool," Sofia said shrugging, "I don't know how I feel about needing to be drugged to dance, but it was cool..."
"And me?" Jake asked, stopping and looking down at her, "What do you think of me?"
"I think you're great," Sofia answered, honestly. She swallowed hard. She should warn him. She should tell him what he was about to walk into. She should tell him to run and never look back. He was just a kid; he was just a kid trying to find his way. Just like her. He was sweet, and kind, and had a beautiful smile, and even prettier eyes. Sofia licked her lips, and forced herself to push those thoughts from her head. For the second time tonight, she was going to do something she didn't really want to, because it was the job.
"I really like you," she said, a smile appearing on her face, as she pulled him forward.
"Oh yeah?" Jake asked, his voice hopeful. Sofia hated that. She hated it when the guys she led away got hope in their voice, like things were going to go somewhere from here, like this meant something more then it did.
"Yeah," Sofia said, looking up at him, and blinking innocently up him, and she licked her lips.
"I've always wanted to kiss you," Jake said quietly, "Can we do this again? So I can kiss you?"
"Do what again?" Sofia said, pulling him forward, though she was still facing him. She bit his lip, and cocked her head at him. She was flirting with him, as she pulled him to his end.
"Let me take you out," Jake said, "I mean, really take you out. Not a rave, but dinner. Give me the chance you always denied me. I promise, I'll make it worth your while."
"You shouldn't make promises like that, you might not be able to keep them," Sofia said, humor in her voice, but she didn't find anything humorous about this situation. Jake pulled her to a stop, but it was okay, because they were there. They were exactly where she needed to get him.
"I don't make promises I can't keep," Jake quipped, "Come on, Sofia, what do you say? Go out with me? For real?"
"Sorry, I think she's busy," a voice said, and Zayn and Harry popped out of the shadows of the alley, followed by her father and Jay.
"What the hell is this?" Jake asked, confused, "Who the hell are you?"
"Look at that boys," her father snapped cruelly, "He thinks we're going to give him answers. No boy, you're gonna give us answers."
He grabbed Jake roughly, slamming him against the wall of the alleyway.
"Sofia, get help!" Jake cried, "Go get help!"
She stood there, and didn't move, as her father punched Jake, before slamming his knee into his stomach, causing Jake to grunt in pain. She didn't move, as Jake looked up at her, his eyes desperate and unsure. He was scared, and he should be.
"Louis is waiting around the corner," Zayn said, pushing her away, "Go."
"What?!" Jake cried out, "What is he talking about?! Are you in on this?!"
"STOP TALKING!" her father bellowed, pushing him into the alleyway.
"Sofia, GO!" Zayn cried, snapping Sofia out of her thoughts. She tore her eyes away from Jake, and she took off, running from them and towards Louis. She could hear Jake's cries of pains as she ran, but she ignored them. She pushed herself forward, and she blocked it all out.
"How'd it go?" Louis asked, as she climbed into the car, out of breath.
"Perfect," Sofia said quietly, looking out the window, as Louis sped off.
***
"How is she?" Sofia asked Danielle and Eleanor, as they stood in Liam's kitchen.
"Like you care," Eleanor scoffed, shaking her head at Sofia.
"It's not like that!" Sofia snapped.
"I'll tell you what it's like," Eleanor growled, "She was drugged and scared and she needed you. And you left her."
"Eleanor," Louis said gently, "Calm down."
"I had a job to do!" Sofia hissed, "Maybe if you did more then just look after Louis, you would know what that's like."
"ENOUGH," Louis snapped, pushing Sofia back, "You're stepping out of line."
"She came at me!" Sofia growled, turning away from the two of them, as Niall and Liam came out of the guest room.
"Well?" Danielle asked
"She's alright," Liam said, "Katie's just force feeding her water, and she's starting to come down. Katie said she'll stay with her, and she should be fine."
"I don't know how Katie managed to get her out of there by herself," Niall said, shaking his head, "Emily was basically having a mental breakdown. She must've been seeing things."
"Katie shouldn't have had to do it by herself," Liam growled, looking at his sister, who was relieved to hear that Emily was going to be okay, though she didn't say anything, "What the hell, Sofia? She's your best friend!"
"I had a job to do," Sofia said quietly.
"Emily is more important then a job, don't you think?" Danielle asked, her voice gentle but stern.
"NOTHING is more important then a job!" Sofia cried, spinning away from her.
"If that's what you really think," Niall snapped, "You have serious issues."
Sofia opened her mouth to reply, but was interrupted by her father, Jay, Zayn, and Harry entering the apartment. Sofia noticed the blood, and could see her father's gun hanging out of his jacket, as though it had just been used. She caught Harry's eye, and he was looking at her as though trying to read what she was thinking. She blinked a few times, before looking away from him, shaking all the guilt and hurt she was feeling from tonight.
"You okay?" Zayn asked, approaching her.
"I'm great," she said, with a smile, ignoring as Harry scoffed, and took off for the kitchen.
"You were great, tonight," her father said, stepping forward with a smile on his face, "You got it done, perfectly. Good for you, darling."
Sofia smiled up at him, before she turned away, walking towards the kitchen to get some water. She needed to swallow something to stop herself from getting sick. Leaning over the sink, she felt how tired she was. She felt all the emotions she had pushed away tonight. She was beginning to feel everything she didn't want to, she needed something to distract her from it.
"Do you want to stay at mine?" Zayn asked quietly, wrapping his arms around her, and kissing her shoulder gently. She sighed in relief, she had found her distraction, or rather, he had found her.
"Yes please," she said quietly, her voice desperate. She needed him to make her forget, to make her feel better.
"Don't stay up too late," her father said, causing them both to look up, "I want you in the gym tomorrow morning, and I want you for a drug deal tomorrow night."
"It's Sunday tomorrow," Sofia said.
"And?" her father asked, blinking.
"I have homework, and I –" Sofia started to say.
"I don't care what you have," her father said, his voice stern, "I need you to work a job, that's all the matters." Sofia sighed deeply; she looked down, as Zayn held her arm gently, running his fingers along the bruises.
"We should wrap this tonight," he mumbled, and she nodded quietly. She didn't know how many more jobs her body could take. She wasn't sure how many jobs she could take.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning, Sofia," her father said.
"Wait, your training me?" she asked, ripping herself away from Zayn, and looking up with wide eyes at her father.
"Yes," her father said, "You won't be the best, until you beat the best." Sofia swallowed hard, she hated training with him.
"Dad, I can take her," Liam suggested, stepping in between them.
"I don't think so, Liam," her father said, with a tight smile, "I want her to be challenged. Besides, Harry told me she got him down today."
Sofia looked over at Harry, who mouth opened in surprise. He was probably trying to help her out, but instead he had just pushed her father to push her harder.
"I want to know if it was luck or not," her father said, his eyes hard, before he turned and walked out of the apartment.
"It wasn't luck, sir," Harry mumbled, "She was actually quite good."
Sofia looked at him in surprise, that's not what he was telling her earlier. He was telling her that she was crazy and raw. She wasn't self disciplined enough, and was going to get herself or someone else hurt. All Harry had done was bitch at her, yet here he was saying the opposite.
"Sofia, you have to tell him your tired," Liam snapped, "He's going to push you til you break if you don't tell him."
"I'm fine," Sofia said quietly.
"You aren't fine!" Liam protested, "If I were in charge –"
"But you're not," Sofia snapped, looking at him, "You're not in charge, Liam."
