Chapter 4

ANNABETH

Okay. I. Just. Kissed. Seaweed. Brain. I don't know how to feel! Oh jeez I'm getting dizzy. JEEZ I

NEED TO STAY-

Annabeth fell to the floor, twitching. With the last drop of strength in her, she yelled," PERCY!

Percy..."

PERCY

Nobody would've thought that Percy would've heard Annabeth. But, his instincts told him that

something was very wrong in Cabin 6.

"OWL!" Percy pulled the doors open. Malcolm stood in front of Annabeth. "Annaaabeth...

Annaaabeth!"

Percy fell to the floor. He choked, "Annabeth...no..."

Percy stood up and picked up Annabeth. He ran out the doors to the Big House. "CHIRON!! WE

HAVE A BIG PROBLEM!!"

Chiron came rushing out, with curlers in his tail. Well... He does wear curlers in his tail. Percy

thought. I owe Grover 10 drachmas.

Chiron cried, "No...not her...why her...?"

Percy put Annabeth onto Chiron's back.

~next day~

Percy ran to the Big House. Argus didn't question, because he knew what had happened to

Annabeth. Percy gasped when he saw her. Her skin was tinted gray, as if the color from her eyes

had went down into her skin. Chiron stood hovering over her. He looked as if he hadn't sleeped. He

had bags around his eyes, and the curlers were still in his tail.He grimaced when he saw Percy. "I

haven't been able to sleep. I've been worried sick. I finally came here to take care of her."

Percy nearly fainted. What he saw was too much to handle. Annabeth wheezed, "My Seaweed

Brain. He's here."

Percy could barely keep his tears in. He couldn't. "Why her? Couldn't it have been me? Why?"

The heart-breaking story of what happened to Annabeth spread like wildfire. Wherever Percy

went, he saw people murmuring. He once heard, "Annabeth............gray.....Percy devastated."

They were right though. Percy was devastated. Every time he walked past Cabin 6, or saw

Annabeth's siblings, he heard her voice. "My Seaweed Brain. He's here."
