Part One

_______

(Herobrine POV)

The forest was silent, the animals had vanished, the flowers had wilted. I knew why, they sensed my presence. I teleported through the biomes, searching for an innocent mine-crafter to torture. In my hand my enchanted diamond sword flickered with energy, yearning to taste innocent flesh. "Where are you Steve?..." I smiled knowingly. I had picked up another human on my radar. I stroked my sword, "Not long now my precious, not long now." I teleported into the mountain biome. And began to search...

"YES!" I whooped and punched the air. "DIAMOND BABY, WHOOP WHOOP!" I placed the helmet on my head and completed my set of diamond armour and tools. "Man, I feel like a pro!" I opened the door and scrambled into my dirt den. I hadn't had time between all the mining to improve my house, but I liked it, it made me feel like an old timer. Or a noob. I fumbled with the lock of my chest till I got it open. I stored all of my diamond insider save my sword. That was ready for enchanting! But in the meantime, time for some house renovation! I wasn't quite ready to tear down my old lodgings, but I could still build a new house a little further away. I lived in a huge valley, with mountains rising up on either side of me. It meant a lot of partcore to get up to the top, but I was partcore master, so what did I care? I lugged my building materials over to the new spot. Took one last look at my old house, and began to build my new house!

(Herobrine POV)

I teleported to the top of a mountain, it overlooked a deep valley with its twin. I stared down into the gloom. My hypersensitive white eyes picked out the smallest trace of movement. There, in the depths I saw a sole human. He'd just finished building a rather "cute" house. It had red brick wall and a birch wood roof. I flew down, invisible, to inspect it further. The human had just closed the door, and through the window I could see him sleeping. I smiled. And went into the house. I leaned over him, closer, closer, and roared. "FUUUUUU?!" He leapt out of bed and screamed at the sight of me. I roared again, a perilous noise that shook the foundations of the house. Claws slashed out of my hands and ripped his bed to shreds, my sword flickered in the darkness as I lunged forward. "HEROBRINE?!" He staggered backwards, falling on the floor. I laughed a cold, evil laugh, as I stood above him, I narrowed my eye and stared at him. "Is this the bit where I lose all my diamonds and have to go back to spawn?" He looked up at me, his eyes brimmed with angry tears. "IVE SPENT MONTHS GATHERING THESE MATERIALS, AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA BLAST 'EM APART?!" I raised my sword to strike, and stopped. I staggered sideways, my eyes burning. "GAH!" I bent over and my head split apart, empty white light filling my vision. The scene changed.

I was back in my home town. In my old house. I was only a few years old. My mother was cooking dinner, and the smell of pork-chop filled the house. My father was teaching me how to use a pickaxe. Back then, my eyes were a perfect blue. Innocent and unharmful. My tiny hands shook as I held the pickaxe, "Now son, what do we do with a pickaxe?" I looked up and said, "We grow plants with it!" He frowned gently, "No son, we mine with it remember?" I looked down. "No I don't, I can't remember anything...I'm USELESS." To my surprise, my father chuckled. "You won't go back to spawn unless you remember." I frowned. "What?" He cradled my small head and said, "Minecraft is all about adventure. It's no good trying to remember something if you haven't done it yet." "I don't understand daddy..." "Don't worry son, you will, one day."

"ENOUGH!" The scene blasted apart and I was back in reality, in the human's house. I glared at myself, my form shimmering in pure white light. "Holy crap Herobrine." I looked at him. "What...happened?" "IT DOESN'T MATTER!" I swung my sword and he dissipated into white dust. His items spilled out onto the floor. I looked down at them. I closed my eyes and gave a great sigh. Then I picked them up and threw them in the chest, I teleported away.

"When you play Mine-Mine-Minecraft, Mine-Mine-Minecraft, ohwohowohohohoho." I hummed as I mined through the stone. I hadn't found diamond yet. But I was close, "C'mon baby, c'mon..." The cobblestone split apart, revealing the beautiful ore. "YES I DID IT I-" And my pickaxe snapped in half. "AW C'MON!" I sighed. "I mine you tomorrow my pretty." I patted it and turned around. Coming face to face with a pair of luminous white eyes. "No way..." I breathed. "Yes way." Herobrine replied in a deep voice. "Wait, are you skin or something?" "Do you see anyone ELSE on the surver?" I swallowed, my mouth suddenly dry. "Step away from the diamonds." I nodded and backed away. I tried to speak, but I was frozen in fear. Herobrine slowly turned to me, and smiled a grotesque, deadly smile, illuminated by his stark white eyes. He took a step towards me, a diamond sword blazing in his hand. In the heat of the moment, I suddenly blurted out, "Why don't you have NORMAL eyes?" He glared at me, but I had said something bad, I could tell. His eyes glazed over and he slumped against the wall. Blocking my way out. "Shit." I backed up against the wall, and settled down, I wasn't going anywhere...

(Herobrine POV)

Damn these stupid visions! I knew where I was. But it was strange, like a film roll flickering in black and white. I saw myself in the film. I was a teenager, standing by the water. I suddenly remembered, it was THE day. The day my life changed forever. I was fishing by the water, my pet ocelot looking for scraps. It brushed against me, purring. I smiled down at it. The teenager me, that is. I knew what was going to happen next, I looked away. The film ruptured, ending with a blast of white light and a boy's scream. When I uncovered my eyes, it was over. A boy was sprawled out on the sand, the ocelot sniffing it frantically, brushing his tail against his face. The boy who was me sat up and opened his eyes, instead of a brilliant blue, they were a blinding white, he scrambled to the waters edge and jumped backwards at his reflection. He curled up on the bank and cried, I cried too, knowing his life would never be the same again.

I opened my eyes and I was back in the passage. The girl was asleep, her back resting against the diamonds she'd been resting against. I looked at her as she awoke. "My eyes are white, because I was unfortunate enough to see something so..." I searched for the right word. "So...terrifying, it bleached my eyes of colour and life. I saw death itself, now I can never die." To my surprise I saw sympathy in the girl's eyes. "You poor thing." I looked down, embarrassed. "Um, I'm sorry, you can go now." She looked surprised. "Aren't you going to kill me?" I looked up, anger overtaking sadness. Why did they stereotype me so?! "WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO?!" I gripped my sword hilt and roared at her, it shook the roof and her face went white. "I'm-I'm-I'm sorry!" "JUST GO!" She sprinted for the exit, and I teleported away.

Back in the forest I dwelled in, I cried. Why was my life like this? Why was I cursed to endure the burden Notch had bestowed upon me?! "WHY?!" The earth exploded under me, white light imploding the ground. I stood up amongst the rumbling and growling of the explosion, the light shone around me as I yelled to the stars, "I'LL KILL YOU NOTCH, I'LL KILL YOU!" Then the light enveloped me and burned into blackness...
