Herobrine's POV

I ran down to the lake, my vision blurred with tears. Why...why? I thought to myself. Why do they hurt me so...I collapsed at the lake's edge, sobs racking my body and tears running down my face. I'd endured so much in my life. I stared at the lake. If only I were mortal, I could douse my fears in water and drown my soul. I put my hands over my eyes to hide them. No one wanted to see them, not even me...

Emily's POV

I trod cautiously by the lake's edge; he crouched by the shore, staring into the water. Then he hid his glowing white eyes behind his eyes and sobbed. Every sob hurt me, a blade through my caring heart. I waited a while, till the tears ceased. Then I moved toward him.

Herobrine's POV

I heard her coming; despite her efforts to keep quiet. I stood up. It was nightfall now and my eyes lit the area around me like searchbeams. I turned to her and her gentle face was cast into shadow by the lights. There were tears streaks on both of ours' faces, and I wondered why SHE was crying. Least she wasn't an outcast like me. Least she had someone to love and care for her. Then, she did the most unexpected thing. She came up to me and flung her arms around me. I remained stiff and relenting as she whispered in my ear, "You're not a monster Herobrine, not to me anyway..." "And what difference does it make if YOU like me." My voice was gravelly and slow from my sore throat. I felt her warm tears splash onto my jacket. "Because...you need friends, and I'm her to be your friend Herobrine. Sky called you a monster." I stiffened at his name. "But you are human as long as you remember you have a soul to love and care with..." It was then that I kissed her. She ws surprised and shocked as she automatically returned it. It lasted only a few seconds as another voice echoed through the gathering gloom. I drew away as Sky and Deadlox stumbled onto the shore. We glanced at eachother and I closed my eyes. When I was invisible I teleported away, because the only way I could hide my tears, is if they couldn't be seen...

Emily's POV

Ty grabbed my arm. "Sky told me what happened! Are you alright?" I nodded and turned to face Sky. "Herobrine isn't a monster, he is a man, like you and Ty, with the ability to love and care for people. Show some sympathy for a guy who's been an exile for as long as Minecraft exists. As long as Notch has lived. As long as life itself. A guy who has only known the cold, hard emotion of solitude and abandonment. He IS human. And if you disagree with that, then you should question your OWN humanity." Then with that, I walked off. Deadlox and Sky gazed after me with mouths agape. Shocked. Angry. Rejected. Like Herobrine. Like I wanted them to feel. So they would understand how it felt to be hurt and never trusted. Like the guy who'd just kissed me. And who I thought I was now falling in love with...

Ty's POV

"If he's done something to her, I swear-" Sky grabbed my arm. "NO Ty, she's right! Let's just see what happens, THEN we'll make the accusations...OK?" I nodded. But I knew he'd done something to her, violated my Emily in some way, and human or not, I'd make him PAY if he had...
