HEROBRINE'S PAST...

Sky's POV

"I'll get him." I said before sprinting after Herobrine as he fled into the forest. The chase went on for some time till he came to a sudden stop in a deserted clearing and I nearly smashed into the back of him. I skidded on the dead leaves that carpeted the forest floor as he turned around. His eyes were bright with pain and anguish, his face a picture of desperation and hurt. The wound in his leg was caked with dried blood and his cheek was red where the cut on his face was. "What do you want?" I answered him with a question of my own. "Why'd you run away?" He looked at the ground. "I'm a monster...I just tried to kill my own brother..." I knitted my eyebrows in sympathy and moved closer. Herobrine glanced up sharply and moved away from me. "What?" "Don't! If I killed you...I'd never forgive myself." "Why would you kill me?" "If I attacked you...you wouldn't be as strong as Steve and I would inevitably kill you.""Oh." I backed off. I couldn't believe this was the same guy who had only yesterday, given me advice on how to ask out Blaze, and told me the truth about himself. "You're not a monster Herobrine, I know you. You wouldn't do something like this unless it was an accident...or you were provoked. It's not you Herobrine." He looked up at me, I started as I realised his eyes were tinged red. "You really think you know me? You don't know anything." Then I looked into his eyes and cried out as a searing pain in my head forced me to the ground. I looked up at him. This time he was wearing a sad, resigned expression. "If you really want to know the truth...I shall reveal my past to you Sky...because I trust you...and I haven't trusted someone in a long time..." Then he gently laid his hand on my shoulder and my eyes widened as I felt myself being jerked into the air. But my body was still on the ground. "What-" "we are going back into the past." ~So casual.~ I thought. Then the world shattered like glass and dissolved into multicoloured shards that span away and melted together to form another scene. ~I'm going back in time...~ I thought, dumbfounded and awestruck at the same time. ~Talk about Back To The Future.~ My body was flung into to the picture and I hit the ground. I gasped as I felt the soil crumble beneath my fingers and the scent of earth in my nostrils. ~WOW! It worked, I'm the first Minecraftian to go back in time!~

I stood up. I was standing in the centre of a village. The houses were made of wood and cobblestone; I felt a presence next to me, guiding me towards a house. It was no different than the other dwellings, but there was something about it...I opened the door and my eyes widened at the scene before me. There were two children playing together in the floor; they couldn't of been older than 5 or 6. They each had a tiny, blunt wooden sword that they batted against each other in mock battle. One was obviously Steve, with his bright, piercing blue eyes. The other was different. He had bright green eyes, that contained intelligence and initiative. "Who's that?" I said to myself. "That would be me." I jumped as Herobrine materialised beside me, his glowing white eyes dimmed with sorrow. "Oh." Then Steve fell backwards and hit his head on the wall behind him. He began to whimper as his eyes brimmed with tears. The other boy dropped his sword and ran to his brother's side, taking his arm and pulling him to his feet, before giving him a hug to make him feel better. Steve smiled as he picked up is sword again and they carried on with the fight. Then my legs fell out from underneath me and the scene dissolved into silver particles. Next, I found myself by a lake. The two boys were much older now, 14 or so.

Steve had a faint scar on his hand and Herobrine had frown lines on his forehead. "Ok Steve. Where to now? You're the one with the map." It startled me how much he sounded like the man who stood next to me, looks like he hadn't changed much. Steve frowned. "I dunno! The compass is broken or something. It's always pointing North!" Herobrine facepalmed. "It's supposed to do that dummy! Give me that thing!" I chuckled. Then the scene changed again. Just when I thought I was getting the hang of timetravelling, the time stream decided to flip me over and I ended up face planting in the dirt. "Owwwwww." I got to my feet and my jaw dropped at what was before me. The sun was setting and it's red and gold rays cast shadows on the two people sat together in front of us, one was Herobrine, because I could glimpse a pair of green eyes, and the other one was a female with long, blond hair that curled round her shoulders. "Oh Hero, I love you so much." "I love you too Sarah." I started at that name...Herobrine had mentioned it down by the lake when I was asking him stuff about his past. They leaned in and I saw the real Herobrine beside me turn away. I didn't want to make him suffer, so I visualised myself leaving this time. Besides, it felt like he was cheating on Emily...Jeez, this time stream was really messing me up! "Thanks Sky." "Welcome." I dived head first into the stream this time, ready for it. Or not. I got hit round the face with something and it turned out to be a violin. I stared at Herobrine. "Don't ask." I nodded and landed on my feet as the time stream closed. "Where are we now?" Herobrine didn't answer, and I soon saw why. His teenage self was sitting down by the lake, in the very spot where he would sit years later, watching me and Blaze try to push each other in the water. He was staring into it, as if attempting to fathom its deepest secrets. Then, I felt tremors deep in the ground. It shook my sunglasses and they started sliding off. I quickly jammed them back on my nose before they could fall off and held them on with my index finger. The present day Herobrine close his eyes to the scene and shimmered into invisibility. Whatever was going to happen, it was gonna be bad. I stood my ground as the ocelot next to the boy shrieked as the boy back-pedalled away from the vibrating water. I ran towards him, I understood now. Suddenly, I reeled back as an explosion of white light blinded me. I heard the boy screaming in pain and I hit the ground, my head throbbing in pain. I opened my eye a crack and just managed to make out the boy's silhouette by the bank. I took my sunglasses off and opened my eyes. Suddenly, I could see everything. The boy had collapsed by the waters edge and the ocelot was crouched on the ground, meowing pitifully, it's fur ruffled up against the gales from the explosion. The white light was everywhere, it felt like the world was dissolving into it. Then I felt someone pulling me away and I grabbed my sunglasses just in time. Once out of the lights' energy radius, I saw Herobrine the elder stand up and...it all went black.
