"Are their others like us?"Adara asked with hope that their were more phoenixes out there. Ash looked down at the table for the second and then back up at Adara. "No, I'm sorry, they were all murdered by humans who craved money, their feathers were sold for clothing while other swore used for experiments,"Ash told her the horrible truth. "Its always them,"Adara said, angrily. "Adara not every human is the same,"Ash defended the human race. "Yes they are! Everyone of then that I've met have always wanted me for money! All they care for is a useless piece of paper! They can't cherish life at all!"Adara yelled as she got up. Everyone stared at her.
"I won't like a race that's killed mine,"Adara said in a normal voice. "Adara listen to me,"Ash siaad as he held her hand. "NO! They've harmed us to much! They don't deserve any forgiveness!"Adara yelled as she jerked her hand away and walked out of the diner. "Adara!"Ash yelled as he ran out of the diner and threw the money on the counter.
Ash chased Adara all the way back to the woods. "Adara! Where are you!?"Ash yelled throughout the woods. He then heard a screech, as if someone was screaming for help. "Adara! I'm coming!"Ash yelled as he began running in the direction of the screeches. As he ran, he started to turn into a phoenix to pick up more speed.
He heard another screech so he flapped his wings more furiously. He then swooped down onto a woman's head, the same one that Ash had just freed Adara from. He screeched ta the woman. He then looked around and noticed there were men trying to grab Adara. Ash clawed at the woman's hair causing the women to run away so Ash attacked the men. He clawed at the faces and screeched in their ears. Adara spiraled up into the sky to get away but one man grabbed her long feathery tail. He had fire proof gloves on so he couldn't get burnt. She flapped her wings more and screeched. Ash continued to claw at the other man's face. Adara screeched again, trying to get away but the can had a firm grip on her tail. "Not today birdie,"the man told her. The man that had his face reared up, screamed in terror, trying to get his partner's attention.
The man fell to the ground while pressing his hand to one of his eyes that were almost clawed out. "Dude! Help! That bastard bird just attacked me!"his partner yelled. Ash then went to the man, who held Adara's tail, and pulled him by his hair to get him away from Adara. He screeched in the man's ears. It was so powerful that it made the man's ears bleed. He let go of Adara to cover his ears. Her jerked his head forward to get away form the bird's powerful call. Ash let go of the man's hair and screeched one more last time and then Ash flew away and Adara followed.
The woman that had captured Adara was still in the woods, watching the two birds fly away.
Adara and Ash flew deep into tube woods and transformed back into their human forms and landed on a tree branch. Adara looked at Ash, who was being awfully quiet. He was staring down its something. Adara followed his gaze and realised that he was looking at his barefooted feet. They were covered in the man's blood, the one who attacked Adara.
She placed a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay?"she asked. "Its just that,"he fell silent for a few seconds. "I've never done that before, I've never been so determined to protect someone, ever,"Ash told her as he looked up at her.
"Thanks for saving me again, I shouldn't have walked out,"Adara said. "I could've killed them,"Ash said as he looked back down at the blood. Adara had just realized that he's never caused anyone so much pain before. "You didn't though, you only wanted to help me,"Adara said as she wrapped her arms around him. She could tell that he needed a hug. Ash hugged back. "Thank you, you seem to always know what to do,"Ash said. Adara chuckled and said"You're the one who actually knows what to do all the time and what people need." Ash smiled at her. "Thanks,"he told her with a smile. "I need to get cleaned up,"he added. "Okay, there's probably some river around here that could help,"Adara said. Ash nodded and then jumped off of the branch and transformed back into a phoenix. Adara did the same and followed him.
They soon ended up finding a lake. Ash sat at the edge of it and put his feet in the cool water and let the blood float away from his feet. Meanwhile Adara was still a phoenix and was flying over the water, face it face with it. She was making all sort of tricks there. At times she would barely touch the water and fly over it, allowing her flames to reflect in the water. Ash just laughed at how much fun she was having.
She then spiraled out in the sky, turning around and around, flames surrounding her, she was smiling. She hadn't been able to go out flying for fun since she was rescued so she was trying to have as much as fun she could. She screeched to the sky, you could tell she was saying"I'm free!" Ash smiled at her and soon joined her in the sky. They bother flew high above the trees, doing tricks with each other.
They soon sat in a tree, since it was already real late. Ash laid down on a branch in his human form and Adara laid on him, her head on his chest, snuggled up to him.
