"Ash!"Adara yelled again as she transformed back into a phoenix and flew down to catch up with Ash. Tears followed her path. Adara screeched at him. The eye patch man's bullet hit the tree since Adara moved to quickly.

She couldn't catch up to Ash and his body hit the grass of the forest. Adara then glided down to him and then transformed back into her human form as she landed by him. "Ash?"she asked him as she ran to him.

Her knees clasped on her and she fell to the ground with tears on the corners of her eyes. "Ash, please are you there?"she asked. "A-Adara,"is all Ash could manage to stay. "I can't loose you! You said you wouldn't leave me!"she yelled at him with tears running down her face. "Adara p-please, everyt-thing will be f-fine,"he stuttered. "How?!"she hit the ground with her fists. "I promised you that you'll never be alone and I will keep that p-promise,"he managed to say. "You can't keep a promise when your dead Ash!"she yelled. "I can and I will, you'll find someone that will never leave you, that will stay with you till you die and even after life, just remember everything I have told you,"Ash replied as he clutched his tight side where the bullet hit him. "No! I need you here!"Adara told him with tears streaming down her face.

She got closer to Ash and lifted his head up. "Adara someone will love you with all their heart like I love you,"he told her. Adara kept crying. She didn't want to lose the only one left of her kind, the only one that understood what she was going through.

"J-just please promise m-me that you won't hurt a-anyone just because y-you're h-hurt,"Ash told her as he was gasping for air. "Can't I heal you!? My tears!"Adara yelled. "No, I've already had my second chance in life and it won't work on other p-phoenixes,"he said sadly as he jerked at the pain.

"Why!? Why you!? Why not the humans?! You never did anything bad like them! They deserve this! Not me or you!"she yelled. "N-no! Adara please n-no,"he stuttered. Adara cried more. "This isn't right!"she yelled to no one in particular. "I love you Adara and so will others,"he spoke his last words as he kissed Adara on the lips and she kissed back but it was broken as Ash's body fell back down in Adara's arms.

"Ash? Please don't leave me!"she told him. Ash's eyes just blankly stared up at Adara. "No!"Adara yelled as she let go of Ash and stepped back. She just kept backing up with her mouth wide open with shock.

"You promised! You made me a promise! You're supposed to keep promises Ash and not break them!"Adara yelled at his silent body. Tears were still streaming down Adara's face like the river that she once swam in with Ash.

Adara just stood there in the forest as if someone just ripped her heart out. Suddenly a flame lifted up into the air from Ash's body. It was in the shape of a bird, a phoenix. Adara just stared at it as it faded away.

Ash's body turned into ashes and were then blown away by the wind. "No!"Adara yelled at the ashes and started chasing after them. She stopped as soon as she realized that they were long gone.

"Apparently my boss wants you alive so I allowed you to say your last goodbyes to your dead boyfriend,"the man who wore the eye patch chuckled behind her.

Anger began to fill Adara as she knew he was the one who shot Ash. "You humans, are pathetic! You take pride in killing lives! You think its funny everytime someone loses someone! How would you feel if you were the last of your kind!"Adara yelled without looking at the man. "Shut your trap! You're coming back to your real home, the cage,"the man said with a light chuckle.

"I'm tired of this!"she yelled at him. A flame formed in Adara's hand. She clutched her other hand and then opened it as another flame appeared. She had a flame in each hand now. "Lets see how you feel when you're hurt!"she yelled at him.

She was ready to hut him with all the flames she had but part of her was saying not to. It felt like someone was pulling her back and away from the man. She gritted her teeth and then clutched her fists again so when she opened them back up, the flames were no longer there. "You make a promise, you don't break it,"is all Adara told the man as flames surrounded Adara again. She transformed back into a phoenix and flew away. The man took out his gun and aimed it at the bird again but his boss called so he answered.

"Keep an eye on the last phoenix, I have plans,"a voice said on the other line of the phone. "Got it boss,"the eye patched man responded with a nod.

Adara flew far away from the man and the town. She didn't know where she was headed but she just knew that she had to get away from that town and all the trouble it contained. She didn't want to live a life that she had to watch her back every second of the day and worry about the people around here. She just wanted to leave the trouble, she wanted a better life and she was determined to have it. She felt like she could take on the world now. She told herself that she would listen to all the advice that Ash gave her. She only wished that Ash was flying right next to her like he always did. She felt as if he was flying by her side so she smiled as she left her past behind.
