Adrian's POV.
"I can't believe you're leaving me with all of these nappy head hoes." Jamal pouted as I broke the bad news to him.
I laughed, "you'll be just fine." I was packing all of my things into my bag. "Plus I have to interview 3 people today, I ain't gone leave you guys with a Ms. Tyra number two." I laughed and so did he.
"I hope not because I'll hate to be on Worldstar for kicking my boss's ass." He laughed.
It was a little over one in the afternoon and the first potential manager was coming in like 30 minutes. It felt good to be moving into bigger and better things but I am going to miss this place.
Soon time passsed by and I was waiting for the person to show.
"Bitch you not gone believe this shit!" Jamal barged in my office looking like he about to spill major tea.
"What is it?" I asked after texting Zariah back. "Why Melvin little hoe up here tryna replace you." He folded his arms. I laughed, she couldn't be me if she tried. I shrugged, "bring her in." I sat back in the chair.
"Hey." She walked in acknowledging Jamal. "Mhm, bye girl." He waved at me closing the door behind him. I laughed standing to my feet to shake her hand.
"Hey-." She froze once she seen my face. I brushed it off figuring she was nervous, she took a seat seeming tensed.
"So I was looking over your resume earlier and it's a concern that I have." I flipped back and forth examining. "What's the problem?" She asked pulling her phone out which is a huge no in any interview.
"You've been jumping job to job for the last past three months, this'll be your fifth." She put her phone down on the desk.
"So what?" She asked with a clear attitude but she wasn't ready for mine.
"So how do I know you wouldn't leave my people high and dry?" I asked in all honesty because I didn't want to hire someone inexperienced.
"Looking back at your track record I can see you don't have any real experience in financing." I shrugged waiting for the major shit she was more than likely about to talk.
"I think I'm very good for the job because I love shoes and I'm good at convincing people. Plus I have a boyfriend to figure out all the financial crisis." She gave a me sarcastic smile.
"Well it sounds like you should be an employee not a manager sweetie." I gave her the same smile pushing her buttons.
"I don't think you're qualified enough but thanks for showing up today." I said honestly and in the most polite way I could.
She stood up grabbing her phone and resume. "Is this because I'm dating Melvin?" She asked.
I laughed, "no, I'm just not going to hand all my hard work to someone who's inexperienced." I folded my arms can't believe she went that low to find an explanation on why she won't be getting this job.
"Yeah okay, I know you want him but it's not happening." She leaned forward looking in my eyes.
"If I wanted him he would've been mine." I leaned forward looking into hers. The only difference is I knew what I was saying was true.
She sat up straight and looked me up and down. She proceded for the door, "Oh, and tell Zariah I said hey." She smirked closing the door behind her.
I ain't gonna lie, that shit threw me for a loop. I brushed my hard back with my fingers hoping for Zariah's sake she wasn't doing dumb shit.
