Adrian's POV.

I sat down in my office chair turning in last week's assignments. After that crazy shit that happened I threw myself in work.

I was already bringing new money to the business and Mr. Williams thanked me a thousand time for it.

I haven't talked to Melvin but once since then. Jamal and Jada got on my ass for it but at the end of the day it's my choice.

"Hello my lovely!" Chad walked into my office shinning bright. "Hey baby." I smiled noticing him glowing.

"So how was your date last night?" I smiled stacking up report papers. "Girl the man was fine as hell, chocolate just like I love them." He sat down crossing his legs before starting.

I laughed shaking my head. "Baby he pulled up in a nice BMW and his diamond cufflinks were to die for." He fake fainted making me laugh.

"Girl I had to stop myself before I showed him a little something." We laughed together high fiving each other. "Boy you are a hot mess." I laughed shaking my head.

"You love me though." He smiles showing his nice teeth. "Well I'm catch you later." He got up leaving me to myself.

I smiled shaking my head at his antics. I heard a knock on my door grabbing my attention.

"What did you forget now?" I laughed getting up expecting Chad to walk in but it wasn't him. "Ms. Parker?" The man asked holding a package. "Yes that's me." I furrowed my eyebrows signing off on it closing my door.

I got the box cutter from my cup of pencils slicing it open. I smiled picking up the shoe box. I opened it admiring the beautiful red bottoms. A note laid at the bottom of the box.

I know that I made you uncomfortable that night and I apologize. Have dinner with me tonight at 8?

Melvin.

I beamed even brighter reading the note. I bit down on my bottom lip admiring the shoes. I slid them on my feet seeing that they fit just right. I opened my phone to send him a message.

Me: thank you for the shoes and I would love to have dinner with you.

I smiled to myself looking at the three dots instantly pop up.

Melvin🙈: ight, wear something sexy.

I laughed rolling my eyes replying 'okay.' I sat back in my chair thinking about these past months.

What me and Melvin had was good and I can get use to having him as a friend.

I was home getting ready for tonight. I wrapped the towel around me looking for the right dress for tonight.

I looked at the time seeing it was almost 7:20. I was always late getting ready for things like this. Once I find

something nice I see something even nicer making me repeat the process.

I finally decided on a fire red dress and choker to go with the heels.

I finished flipping my hair and lotioning myself up. I heard the doorbell ring making me turn my face up.

I slid the heels on my feet checking myself in the full body mirror. I smiled admiring myself.

I opened the door dropping my jaw as he did the same. He stood tall in the all black suit. His cufflinks sparkled in the moon light as so did that smile. It felt like I was looking at a new man.
