I've been doing my own business and haven't talked to Melvin much. We talked but when he brought us up I always turned him down. I was at my home swimming around in the pool while Chad, Marcus and Jade were in the house. They were so supportive and understanding, me and Melvin had been under each other's noses for two years slowly turning into three.

"Here you go love." Chad sat my hamburger on the table. He was looking good, he was still seeing the guy we last talked about and apparently he was treating him good. "Girl you been in that pool for hours, come eat." Jade and Marcus came out with more food.

I got out wrapping the towel around me to join them. "Devin and them are supposed to be here in a few, are you sure it's okay for Melvin to be coming." Everybody at the table eyed me for my answer. "Yes." I laughed at them, they were being petty. "Mhm." they all said in unison making my eyes roll. "Melvin knows what he has lost and that's enough punishment for him. I don't feel some type of way he does, I gave him fair warnings." That night at the room still haunted me, sometimes it felt like I could still feel his hands wrapped around my neck.

"Girl you stabbed the shit out of him, you damn right its fair and it should be over." Chad said getting an amen from the little church. "So because he did something stupid and I defended myself I should forget he ever put his hands on me?" I was trying to wrap my mind behind their logic.

"No that is not what we're saying, well not at least I." Jade said. "I'm saying that if you want to get back with him don't feel stupid or like you're only giving him another chance to physically hurt you. Adrian I know you, and I know you want to be with that man. That's the father to your child."

Those six words stuck in my head making me rub my stomach. Yes it was true, me and Melvin are having a baby. No I haven't told his ass and I'm not planning on to at the moment. They were the only ones who knew.

"Yo, yo, yo!" Devin and the rest of the gang came through the padio doors with more food. Everyone hugged each other as a greeting but when it got to Melvin I could only stair.

"Hey." He smiled leaning again the glass trying to look cool. "Hi." I pushed the stranded hairs behind my ear, it was way too awkward and I could hear them talking shit. "So what you been up to?" He asked looking me up and down. "Nothing but work and why you looking like that?" I looked him up and down so he knew what I was referring to. "You just gotta glow about you or some shit." He walked off joining the group where I was stamped dead in my tracks. I was only two months and so little at that, a glow couldn't be this early?

I walked up to Jade pulling her ass to the side. I wondered did she run her mouth to Devin about it. "Girl what the hell?" She looked confused trying to keep up as I powered walked. "Did you tell Devin about my pregnancy?" I folded my arms tapping my foot. "Girl what? No!"

I shook my head knowing it was stupid. "Sorry, he said I was glowing and it spooked the hell out of me." I pushed my wet hair back. "Well that's probably the Lord telling your little ass to tell him. He deserves to know." She said the last part through gritted teeth before walking off.

I went back to where everybody was seated. "Where's Jacob?" I haven't seen his little ass in a minute.

"He gotta girlfriend now and think he too good and shit." Ryan blurted making the boys nod in agreement. I smiled, it was good he had someone finally after being the dub in the group. "Girl this chicken fettuccine good as hell, you must stuck your foot in this?" Ryan asked licking the corners of his mouth.

I laughed but before I could speak asshole had something to say. "Don't geek her head up, she ight." Melvin commented looking right at me. I rolled my eyes at him, "You never complained about my cooking so shut up."
