Adrian's POV.
My mind was wrecked from last night but I still got up to go work today.
I was in my office going through every sale and made sure it was counted for. I had a few requests for shoes people wanted so I had to handle that too.
I hated that Melvin could control my mood like this. I was happy with Zariah but seeing him only sparked an old flame. Although I was only with Melvin for three months he didn't seem happy. You can learn alot just by staying in that person's home.
I didn't want to be hurt again and lied to like I was. I've had people walking in and out of my life all my life and I was tired of it. Once I finally found home with Melvin he basically threw it away. It broke my heart knowing he could detray me for the second time.
"Boss, someone wants to see you." Jamal barged in knocking me out of my feelings.
"Who?" I asked confused knowing Zariah was at work herself.
"Just come see. Quizzing me with all these damn questions." He rolled his eyes walking away. I laughed getting up and grabbing my jacket.
"Adrian." I looked up seeing Melvin, I shook my head turning around. "No. No!" He grabbed my arm before I could get close to the door.
"Just let me talk to you." He looked with pleading eyes. I looked around seeing everybody in our business and whispering.
"You got 10 minutes." I opened my office door letting him in closing and locking the door behind me.
I sat down and he did the same. We sat in an awkward silence for a while driving me mad. "Time is ticking." I reminded him tapping my watch. He cleared his throat before beginning to speak. "Look Adrian I know I'm the last person you want to see but I just want to apologize. I was dumb as hell for putting you through those things and breaking your heart like that. I know you may think I'm the same but I'm not. Over these 8 months I've really grown. It'll be selfish and wrong of me to even ask to have you back but I still want you as a friend."
I sat there taking everything in and processing it. I wasn't sure what I wanted but I knew us having this little beef hurted me worse.
"Fine." I said fight back the tears. A small smile appeared upon his face. "Thank you, you won't regret it." He nodded standing up. "I guess I'll walk you out." I shrugged getting up. As soon as I opened the door Jamal scatter like a roach.
"Hey boss." He smiled typing in number on the calculator. "Mhm." I looked him up and down as he smiled at me.
"Can I text you sometime?" Melvin asked. "I don't think I'm ready for that." I answered honestly feeling my mood swing.

I was back at home sitting in the kitchen trying to get myself together. Seeing her today was to bring peace but I could still see that same pain in her eyes.
"Hey baby." Mesha kissed my cheek and began rubbing my shoulders. "Wassup." I rubbed her hand as my mind went everywhere.
"Nothing, but I have to tell you something and promise me you won't be mad." She stood in front of me with a worried look. I shook my head not really in the mood to hear depressing shit. "What?" I asked moving my hand forward for her to continue.
"I-I got fired." She let out a deep breath waiting for my reaction. "How?!" I asked standing up and getting fustrated. "You can't keep running through jobs man." I said not caring how she'd feel.
"Well excuse me, you know I don't have good work ethic Melvin!" She did a pouting face.
"Well you need to get that shit right man." I rolled my eyes, stressing. I really had to bite my tongue knowing the wrong thing would slip.
