𝗦𝗘𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗕𝗘𝗥 𝟮𝟬𝟬𝟯 𝖭𝖾𝗌𝗌𝖺'𝗌 𝖯𝖮𝖵
𝐓𝐖𝐎 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃 𝐘𝐄𝐀𝐑𝐒 𝐒𝐈𝐓 𝐁𝐄𝐓𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐍 me and Wyoming, between me and Isaac Warner's fists, his whiskey breath, and the motel room where I finally chose myself. Stanford is supposed to be the clean line in the sand. A new life. A nursing degree. A future that doesn't smell like gasoline, blood and fear.
Reality looks a lot less cinematic.
Reality is my third year of college, a minimum-wage shift at a cozy café that pretends burnt espresso is charming, and every paycheck disappearing into tuition, textbooks, rent, and the kind of groceries that come with coupons. Nothing about it is glamorous. Still, I keep going, because the only thing worse than being broke is being trapped.
Most days have a rhythm I can almost believe in. Classes. Study sessions. Parties that start out as "just one drink" and end with me promising myself I'm done making stupid choices. More studying. Exams that squeeze my lungs until I remember how to breathe again. Stanford is exactly what I imagined—beautiful, relentless, and unforgiving.
