𝐖𝐈𝐓𝐇 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐊 𝐎𝐅 𝐃𝐀𝐖𝐍, I found myself as the sole early riser. Seizing the serendipitous moment, I resolved to luxuriate in the steam shower, anticipating it to be a much-needed respite. The cascading warmth enveloped me, instilling a sense of tranquility that had eluded me for quite some time. After preparing myself for the day ahead, I treaded towards the bathroom door, only to collide with Dean, who appeared to have harbored the same intention. Our eyes met, and we exchanged surprised yet genuine smiles, a silent acknowledgment of our shared synchronicity.
"Please tell me you saved some hot water?" he asked. I stepped aside to let Dean pass towards the entrance.
"There should be some left. Enjoy your shower," I replied with a smile, and proceeded downstairs.
As I made my way past the living room area, I noticed Sam sitting on the couch, diligently packing his belongings. Unable to resist my curiosity, I decided to inquire about the time.
"What time is it? How long was I in the shower?" I inquired.
"It's half past eight," Sam answered, glancing at me over his shoulder. "Did you run into Dean on your way downstairs? I just heard a police call on the scanner," he informed.
