"So what are you going to do now?"

"I don't know. I could take chemotherapy combined with radiation therapy, but I don't think it'll work," Jungkook sighed. He ran his slender fingers through Areum's soft and silky hair, letting it fall back down. Areum smiled gently and placed her hands on his cheeks.

"You don't know for sure that it won't work. It's possible that it can and trust me, it will," Areum hoped to give him the hope he needed.

But Areum didn't even know it herself; whether it was hope that she had or desperation that it will work. She hated that she wasn't sure about how she was feeling. She wished she could confidently say that he was going to be just fine, but she couldn't muster up the courage to say so. Even she didn't know what would happen to him.

"I don't want to think about this right now. Why don't go out on a date this weekend?" Jungkook smiled, trying to take the topic away from him.

A twinkle of joy shined through Areum's eyes and she quickly nodded with a smile on her face. "I would love to," she replied.

"Where do you want to go?"

"Since you're the one who should have fun, you should pick the place," she smiled.

"Let's go to the amusement park."

"This is so adorable. It fits you."

"Does it?" Jungkook chuckled. He picked a Minnie Mouse headband up from the table and placed it perfectly onto Areum's head. Areum laughed as the headband on Jungkook started to fall off and slide down his face. She fixed it so it was properly on his head.

"How much are these?" Jungkook asked.

"Since you guys seem like a great couple, I'll give you guys a discount," the cashier said, smiling.

Jungkook paid for the headbands and thanked the person for her generosity. "Let's get going to the rides," he said, holding onto Areum's hand and pointed to the large rollercoaster with his other hand, "why don't we go on that one?" Areum had a blank face and Jungkook could tell she was slightly nervous. "Are you afraid of heights?" He joked.

"No, I'm not," Areum lied, squeezing Jungkook's hand tightly.

"That was so fun! Let's ride again!" Areum jumped up and down in complete happiness. Meanwhile, Jungkook was holding a banister tightly.

"I think I'm going to hurl," he replied.

Areum patted his back as she smiled. "You'll be fine," she said, "to calm you down, why don't we ride the ferris wheel? We'll get to see the amazing view from up there."

I can't tell if she likes me or wants to kill me, Jungkook thought to himself.

They got onto the ferris wheel. It started moving, getting higher and higher by the moment. Areum gazed at the beautiful sight in front of her in awe. Jungkook glanced at her, smiling to himself. Areum turned around and stopped when she saw Jungkook looking at her.

Their lips lightly collided and joy surged through both of them. But Areum was also afraid. She felt as though he was living the last moments of his life and that he was saying his goodbyes to her. A tear slipped down her cheek. Don't tell me you'll leave me. You're the only one I have left, Areum thought.

"Why are you crying?" Jungkook backed up a bit and wiped the tear with his thumb.

"I–"

The ride stopped and it was time for them to get off the ferris wheel. They both got off and Jungkook asked, "what were you going to say in there?"

"It's nothing," Areum smiled it off, but it soon faded after he looked to the side for any other rides. He looked paler than usual today and his hands looked a bit more bony. She was getting more nervous as they continued to walk to the next ride.

Suddenly, she heard a thud next to her. Areum immediately stopped in her steps and her breath hitched in fear. "Jungkook?" She turned around, to see Jungkook's body on the ground and blood spilling out of his mouth. People gathered around and some people started calling the police.

"Jungkook!" She rushed down, holding his head as tears ran down her face, "don't die on me, please. I need you right now. You can't just leave me behind."

Jungkook coughed up more blood and she turned him to the side, hoping he would struggle less that way.

She caressed his hair with fingers that were covered with blood, but neither of them seemed to care at that moment. She knew he could die at any moment. "Jungkook, stay with me. Remember what you said to me when we were in the hospital room. 'You're not allowed to die without my permission," she sobbed.

A group of paramedics rushed by and placed Jungkook onto a stretcher. Areum followed them to the ambulance and got in after they got Jungkook in. She held his hand tightly, praying that he would live.

     "You need to survive."

I'm not really the best at writing parts that include going on cute dates and kisses. Not really something I'm good at. Anyways, my break ended and now I'm stuck with school again ugh.
