I knew what was going to come so I sat back and didn't say anything. I pulled my hair into a ponytail because I knew I didn't have to hide it anymore. In my peripheral view I saw Shad and Scrap watching intensely. I sighed embarrassed and then Trell came out the building looking all kinds of things. He looked, amused and scared and sorrowful. "You Trell?" Malcolm asked him and he nodded but he couldn't even finish nodding before Malcolm's fist connected to his face and Trell flew to the ground.

"Bitch who the fuck do you think you is nigga?" Malcolm asked him in a rough manner. I adverts my eyes, something Ahm picked up on, because he was watching me, not my brothers. Meanwhile people walked over to watch the showdown. Trell lifted himself up some and he spat out some blood, it made me nauseous. Malcolm kicked him in his face and he went down again. He pointed towards me and asked "Do you know who that is nigga?" Trell shook his head no. "Bitch that's my muh fuckin sista ho. If I ever hear you put yo hands on her again nigga I'm a kill you." Malcolm shouted at Trell and he walked away, feeling like his warning was felt by all around.

Trell laid there and groaned in agony. He held his chest and his head. "Please, please, stop. Please! He's sorry." This older woman came out pleading with Malcolm, it pulled at my heartstrings more than ever. Malcolm ignored her and Trey pulled out his gun and pointed it towards Trell, the woman screamed for them not to do it. "You wanna beg for his life even though he came and fucked with people? You need to tell him he needs to watch who the fuck he fucks with. If I gotta come back here for him, I'ma kill him, in front of your face." Trey warned her and she thanked God for sparing Trell's life.

"Let's go." Trey turned his attention to me and I followed right behind him but I made sure to keep my distance. He stopped in front of Ahm "Ain't mean to murk on yo territory. Just business." Ahm nodded his head and Trey kept walking.

When we made it back to the car I sighed "That was unnecessary." I said calmly. "It was, because if niggas think they can mess witchu then they can mess wit us. That ain't happening." Trey explained like that made it right. I rolled my eyes "I need a new knife." I said to him and he gave me a face while Malcolm took off down the road. "Why?" He asked. "I cut him and Ahm took the knife from me." I answered and he nodded. "You already cut him?" Trey asked.

"I did." I answered and he smiled like he was proud. But Malcolm grunted. "I told you not to come here with that bullshit Reagan." Malcolm said to me disappointed. "What bullshit she defended herself." Trey tried to help my case. "I don't care, she don't need to cut people to get outta shit." I rolled my eyes "I had to do something, he was going to kill me." I let slip out. I snapped my eyes shut at the realization of what I just said as Trey snapped his neck and looked at me.

"Whatchu mean?" Trey kept on pressing. I sighed out frustrated, "I saw that he was reaching for something, and I couldn't think of anything else to do." Trey hit the palm of his left hand with a fist from the right hand. "I should've killed him." Trey stated out loud through gritted teeth and I breathed out and replied, "You didn't have to do anything you know?" Malcolm sighed and said "I'm sorry we did that in front of you Shawty. It won't happen again."

When we made it home I went to my room and sighed. I took out my homework and I started to read the book I was originally reading. I finished a couple of chapters and then I got a call on my phone. I picked it up and said "Hello?" "Yo what's up?" Drew asked me and I sighed.

"Nothing much, reading this book."

"Man, I need to get started on that. What chapter you on?"

"Sixteen. It's a long book."

"Yeah, I'm not looking forward to reading it, is it at least interesting?"

"Yeah, it's about revenge and whatnot."

"Speaking of revenge, you ain't tell me you had crazy ass brothers."

I sighed because that's exactly why I didn't want them acting an ass tonight.

"Is that what everyone is saying?"

"Nah, I just thought that they were crazy. Trell a dumb nigga. But you straight huh?"

"Yeah, something like that."

"Good, I got some books on how to test even though you dyslexic, and I rented us a room in the library on Saturday morning so we can start your lessons."

          I smiled.

"You want to help me that much?"

"Yeah, and I already told Mr. Gaines you changed your mind and he was excited so you gotta do it now."

          I smacked my lips.

"You do have a big ass mouth. I wish I could hit you."

"But you can't so ha!"

"Not right now. But it's coming."

"Yeah, yeah. See you at school tomorrow."

"Mhm."

"Try to get along with people before you get in trouble again."

"I'll try."

          We laughed and hung up.
