I haven't asked Isobel why she's been protecting me lately.

Maybe because she doesn't have the answer.

When you ask a question, you're not always going to get an answer.

That's for sure.

The hospital was cold and dirty.

I don't normally visit here.

But for Emily's sake, I did.

I brought her books and stuffed animals with a bunch of "Get Well" balloons.

No flowers.

Stupid flowers.

I hate flowers because that's all I see when I go visit a grave.

Flowers all over the cemetery.

And I'm not a fan.

Emily was staying in room "3145"

She had a shared room with some other person.

When I got there, she was watching Gossip Girl on tv.

Just like her.

"Hey. I brought you a teddy bear!" I said placing the balloons on the table.

She barely smiled.

"Thanks Hannah. Looks like your bruises healed" she said.

She was in a coma for a week.

She thinks I got bruises.

Because I "did"

"So what'd they say?" I asked changing the subject.

"Oh. I can go home tomorrow morning" she said.

"Emily! That's great!" I said.

"Yeah. Uh. My head hurts" she said holding her temple.

"Do you want me to call a nurse?" I asked.

By the time I finished that sentence, she was asleep.

I even checked if she died, but no, just sleeping.

I decided to go home and come back later.

I was walking home when Isobel joined me.

"What do you want?" I asked.

"Whoa. No need to be mean. Is this about the whole Emily thing? Because you gave me permission to play with her...

Alone"

"Go away" I said.

"No"

"Go away Isobel"

"No"

"I said GO AWAY!"

After the third time, she disappeared.

That's weird.

Hm.

So it only takes 3 times.

To say go away.

And she'll go away?

Sweet.

"Good morning class. I have an exciting project for you this semester" the science teacher said.

No project is exciting. That's just not possible.

"You will pick a topic from anything involving supernatural figures.

The purpose of this project is to let us see what supernatural truly means to us.

Whether we believe in the supernatural, or not.

You can do anything.

Mermaids, vampires, or werewolves even.

The instructions and requirements will be in front of my desk on your way out. Please grab one. But as for now, continue with your quiz" he said.

Anything?

I decided to do mine on one thing.

The only thing that popped into my head.

A must do project.

Ghosts.
