Dear diary:

I haven't written in you in a while.

Last night, I heard voices.

And these weren't voices coming from Isobel.

No, these were feint whispers.

Unrecognizable.

"Sh"

One voice said.

"You'll wake the child" The other said.

Some giggled.

It was all sorts of things.

"Can I play with her hair"

"Behave"

"Sh"

"Be quiet"

"I'm bored"

"Sh"

I didn't know where I was.

Or what I was doing.

I felt empty.

I didn't know if I was dreaming.

I don't even know if I'm awake right now.

All I know is that I heard a bunch of voices.

They almost sounded like monsters.

Like, under my bed.

Because that's where the voices were coming from.

So, I heard monsters....

......under my bed.

But no diary.

These weren't monsters under my bed.

I went to school, and I heard them again.

I didn't have my bed, so it couldn't have been the monsters.

The voices increased along with the volume.

"Psst, Hannah. Over here" one said from behind.

I turned quickly, but saw nothing there.

"Nope. Over here" one said from the left.

I tuned left.

"Gotcha, I'm in in front of you"

I looked all around.

But no monsters.

No one was even near me.

The only movement was from the trees and bushes blown by the wind.

And then, the realization hit me.

Those monsters aren't under my bed.

Those monsters are inside of my head.
