Emily Heaney and her father and uncle moved to Point Place, Wisconsin after the death of her mother.

Arriving in the new world from Ireland, the family opened a traditional Irish style pub, Heaney's, which quickly became a success.

The Heaney's moved in to a small house next to the Pinciotti family and Emily and Donna became fast friends, Eric happily added to their little group.

Not long after moving, Emily meets Steven Hyde, after his step-father leaves him at the door of the pub to go have a few drinks, which quickly turned to several and being kicked out at closing time. Emily and Hyde spent those hours talking, and two years later, when Eric introduced the two girls, they were excited to see they now shared friends.

Ten years later and the group has some new editions, namely Jackie and the foreign kid, Fez, but their friendships haven't suffered.
