When half of the day is lost, as dusk settles in
I find myself along these sandy shores halfheartedly strolling.
And as if by chance, my attention was slightly caught
By the soothing sounds of the ruling waves,
Lightly crashing against the sturdy rocks repeatedly back and forth
While gently, teasingly, approaching the expectant shore.
Mesmerized, I watched, I waited, and I listened closely
To the flow, the voice, and the heart of the sea with the shore
And also, perhaps the passing reunion of the two,
For awhile back there I must admit, I thought I heard again
My heart calling me,
Calling you.
