"Need a ride?" she spoke loud enough to be heard over the engine, and Camila blinked, looking around her before looking back at Lauren. "Yeah, you. You're the only one standing there."

Immediately, Camila could feel her face grow hot and she looked down at the ground, taking a step back. "No, no, that's okay."

"What?" Lauren cut the engine. "I couldn't hear you."

"I said, 'No, that's okay.' I can walk home on my own, thank you," Camila turned and shoved her hands into her pockets, but she only made it a few steps until she stopped.

"Wait!" Lauren shouted after her, and Camila turned around. "C'mon, it's pretty lonely out here, and walking home alone is a bummer."

She shouldn't trust this girl, because she only just saw her at the party and she'd never talked to her before, but there she was, offering her a ride on that fancy car of hers... Camila shifted on her feet, worrying her bottom lip between her teeth before nodding and taking a step forward. And Lauren grinned, the most wolfish thing that Camila had ever seen in her life, and started up the engine of the car as Camila opened the passenger door and seated herself next to her.

"Hold on." Lauren pushed the gas pedal to the floor with her foot.

Camila squeezed onto the handle on the roof of the car as it was obvious that Lauren wasn't paying much attention to the speed limit.

"Relax!" she said as they crossed an intersection, still smiling a little, and Camila grimaced, swallowing as she let the tension in her shoulders go. She loosened her grip on the handle a little as Lauren laughed, probably at her, and she leaned into a turn, Camila trying her best not to freak out about how close it felt like they were to crashing. Under her fright there was a hint of exhilaration though, something fluttering and new. Lauren was so at ease - they hadn't said hardly two words to each other, but Lauren either didn't care or was too practiced with giving random lifts to people to be bothered.

"Didn't you go to the party on Sam's motorcycle?" Camila asked.

"Yeah, but he was being a bit of jerk, so I left with my car that one of my sorority sister's drove there with."

After their conversation, Camila realized they had gone way past her apartment, she was too caught up in the moment to speak up about it. At some point she vaguely understood that Lauren probably had no intention of taking her back to her apartment in the first place. Her heart jumped in her chest and her breath caught at the implications. She licked her lips nervously and heard Lauren chuckle.

Camila watched the buildings streak past. If people followed them with their eyes it was only for a moment before they kept walking or driving. In a random burst of anxiety, Camila worried that someone would recognize them only to calm herself with the understanding that it was dark and they were probably going too fast anyway - besides, all the people who knew her were back at Delta House.

Here she was, with Lauren Jauregui, who didn't know her at all. Who, last she had seen, had been acting extremely interested in Sam Judd, but was now taking her somewhere on a Cadillac Calais.

A second later, she felt them slow down, coasting to a stop beside a lit diner that she had been to maybe once before with a few friends when they had ventured this far into the city.

Camila didn't understand.

She had thought...she blushed and Lauren cut the engine, turning to Camila, eyebrows raised.

"I don't know about you, but I could go for a milkshake," Lauren said, grinning, and Camila tried to swallow the lump in her throat again.

"P-pardon?" She replied, and Lauren smiled wider, if that was possible.
