When Lauren woke up, she was lying in a hospital bed wearing a blue gown. She sighed and rubbed her forehead before completely opening her eyes. It took her a minute to realize where she was. When she did, she jumped up with her hand still on her head. The room was quiet since she wasn't hooked up to anything because she wasn't injured, just unconscious for a bit.

Lauren got out of the bed, barefoot, and rushed through the hallway, the floor cold on the bottom of her feet. "Where is she? God, where is she? I need to see her," she whispered to herself.+

"Hey!" a nurse called from the end of the hall. "What are you doing?"

"I need to find my cousin!" Lauren lied. That was always their go to if somebody asked about their relationship or why they lived together.

"You look like you shouldn't be up since you have a gown on, sweetheart. Why don't you go back-"

"No! I'm not hurt! I just need to find her, dammit!" Lauren caught herself getting too loud and angry with the woman who was only trying to do her job. "Please," she quieted down. "I only fell unconscious after a car accident. I'm not hurt. But my cousin is. So please. Tell me where I can find her." The nurse sighed.

"What's her name? I'll bring you there."

"Thank you," Lauren breathed out. "Thank you. Her name is Camila. Camila Cabello." The nurse hooked arms with Lauren, still worried for her.

They walked a few halls before finding Camila's room and turning into it. "Camila!" Lauren said, excitedly, even though Camila looked horribly beat up, and still had her eyes shut. Her face was bruised and cut up, and her arm was in a cast beside her. There was a doctor and a nurse in there checking up on her when Lauren came in. "Wake up, Camz!" she giggled sitting next to her taking her hand. Camila didn't budge. Lauren looked up at the doctor with a concerned look on her face. The doctor sighed and adjusted his glasses.

"She's not going to be awake for a little while," he told her.

"What? Why?"

"She hit her head pretty hard. Very hard. I don't know how to explain this in a simple way... When she got in that car accident, she hit her head so hard that her brain basically swelled up, and it, uh, put her in a trauma induced coma, and... There's no telling when she's going to wake from it... She has a bunch of open wounds all over her body from broken glass, and some of her insides are bruised, which most likely has an impact on her not waking up... I-I'm sorry, darlin'." Lauren felt all the blood rush out of her head and her stomach sink.

"No, no, no. No! This can't be happening! It's her birthday today! It was supposed to be a good day... I told her it was going to be a good day. And, and this happens? Why?"

"This doesn't necessarily mean anything horrible. She's still alive, and is responsive. She could wake up today for all we know," he said trying to make light of the situation and comfort the distressed Lauren almost in tears again.

"Can I please just... Talk to her alone? Please..." The doctor and nurse gave her an understanding nod and left the room. Lauren knelt beside the bed, and put both of her hands on Camila's uncasted hand. She took a second to just look at her and her black and blue face with an oxygen mask over it, and her cut lip, nose, and forehead, all beautiful places where Lauren has kissed, now damaged, beat up, and broken. She couldn't help but blame herself.

"I'm so sorry, Camila. You told me to slow down, and I didn't fucking listen. You've told me this would happen since the first time we met." Lauren put her forehead onto their balled up hands, and began to cry as she thought of the time when they met almost four years ago. "You're so beautiful. Especially that night we met. It was almost love at first sight even though you hated me in the beginning," she quietly chucked. "I love you, Camila. I have loved you since I saw you across the room at that party in '65, babe," Lauren said, her voice beginning to tremble. She held her hand tighter. "I won't leave your side until you wake up, Camila. I promise." She kissed her hand, and cried harder. "I love you."
