Chapter 11: Beach walk

I changed quickly into my summer dress and sandals. When I'm finished getting dressed I take my hair out of my 2 corn-row braids I did the night before.

My hair is now wavy, i finish up by putting some makeup on and brushing my teeth.
When I'm finished I walk out the bathroom.

I turn my head and notice Charlie is on his phone.
He looked so good with his messy curly hair.
He looked so perfect!

"I'm ready now."
I say grabbing my phone'

"Great let's go!"
He said standing up and walking to the door'

He opens the door for me,
I politely thank him.
I lock the room door with a key card my parents​ left me.
I then slip it into my bra.

I notice Charlie stare, but I don't mind him staring. I just don't want him touching. Not yet....

We head into the elevator, Charlie presses the first floor button. The door closes and we begin to go down.

"You look very nice by the way, Meghan"
He murmurs'

"Thank you"
I smile under my hair so he can't see'

The elevator beeps for the first floor. We step out and head out of the lobby.

"I really hope you brought sun block. My skin is very sensitive."

"Yeah I did"
He says pulling a small bottle of sun block out his pocket'

"Good!"
I smile'

We head out of the hotel, we make it outside where the heat is super hot and intense.

"Gosh its so hot out here!
I knew I should have stayed in the hotel room"
I whine'

"Hey! No whining. And there is no going back to the hotel room. Being outside is better"
Charlie says'

I roll my eyes at him and sigh deeply....

Minutes later we make it to the loud, crowded, beach.
Charlie grabs hold of my arm as we walk past the huge crowd.

When we finally make it out of the crowd we head to a bar that sells smoothies​, fresh squeezed juice, alcohol​, ect.....

"Do you want a drink?"
He asks'

I shake my head....

"Are you sure? It is pretty hot out here"

"I'm sure Charlie"

"I'll get you one anyways"
He says turning to the bartender'

"I said NO!"
I scold'

Charlie frowns at me....
I give him a serious look back.

"Ok geez Miss indoor lady​, you don't have to be feisty"

"I'm not being feisty, I'm just telling you no"

"That's still being
feisty.....But ok?"
He mumbles'

I narrow my eyes at him as he orders his self a drink...
He turns back to me and raises his eyebrows at me.

"You seem tense, would you like if I massaged your back?"
He questions'

"And why would I want you to do that?"

"Because.... You trust me?"

"Not yet Charlie, not yet..."

"Ah, I see how your playing this game"
He grins'

"What game?"
I squint'

"Don't act innocent, you know what I'm talking about"

I try not to smirk, but one accidentally escapes my lips....

"Ah ha! See you are playing a game"

"It's not a game Charlie, that's just how I am. If I can't trust you that means I don't want anything to do with you."

"Please don't shut me down, I'm trying! Im really am!"
He begs'

I begin to giggle....

"Oh so you think this is funny now"

"Hehe, maybe!"
I tease'

"Come here!"
He says grabbing by the arm and taking me away from the bar'

"Where are we going? And what about your drink?"

"Hush!"
He demands'

We walk through the hot sand, and down to where not a lot of people were.

"Why are we so far from everyone?"
I frown'

"Because it's only me and you, right?"

"Sure I guess but--

"Shhh...."
He says laying his index finger on my lips'

Oh my! Where is this going?

"I need to ask you a question"

I raise my eyes....

"I know we just met yesterday, but i wanted to know if you wanted to come to one of the beach parties with me tonight?"

"You mean as to be your date?"
I said while taking his finger off my lips'

"I mean If you want to call it that?"
He says scratching his head nervously​'

"Well I'll love to go with you tonight, as a friend. If that's ok with you Charlie?"

"Oh, umm yeah! That's what I uhh, meant. Just as a friend kind of thing"

"Yeah! That'll be fun, you can meet me down in the lobby tonight at 7"

"Okay"
He smiles brightly'

When we're finished nervously​ talking to each other we begin to walk down the beach together.

The beach walk was actually really nice I was really surprised!, and plus I couldn't believe Charlie asked me to go to a party with him tonight.
But only as a friend, not as like a date!
Even though I would love it to be one....

"So tell me, what are we suppose to do at this party tonight?"
I ask'

"We can do anything we like, just don't get wasted."
He chuckles'

"Yeah! My parents will literally drive me crazy if I got drunk."

"Same here, but instead of getting drunk there's other things you can do."

"Like what?"

"Like, go into the water at night, dance to the music, play games and win a prize etc..."

"How do you know all this?"

"It's because i went to the one last night. It was fun, but it's not that fun when your alone. That's why I asked you if you would like to come with me"

"Oh, well I can tell we're going to have fun!"
I giggle'

"Me too!"
Charlie smirks'

The day goes by very quickly, before I know it the sunset is upon us!
I check my phone for the time, it said 5:30.

"We should get back to the hotel so we can get ready for tonight"
I explained'

"Yeah, let's go."

We walk off the beach and back onto the sidewalk to our hotel.

When we get there we step into the elevator and go to our floor....

I wonder what tonight may hold?
