Episode 12: Let the Game begin!

"Nii-saaaaannnn." Mitsuki calls out extra cheerful throughout the house as she walks in from school

Byakuya is organizing some files and folders into single piles for different categories "I'm in here..." he speaks up calmly freshing up his studies "feels like forever since I've actually cleaned My studies"

Mitsuki walks in "Nii-san" she says amiling happily "I won, I found out what Yasuo was so now you can't take back what you said about us being friends."

"Oh? You did" Byakuya smirks, a bit of relief in his mind "So miss Detective what is he then? Enlighten me on your discovery" He Rolls his eyes

"He's a cave dweller." Mitsuki says smiling proudly. "He told me himself."

"Cave dweller" Byakuya stares at her calmly, his head reeling from either confusion or feeling tricked "So he's a cave dweller....mhm...." he crosses his arms not really impressed "Do you even know what that means? Or are you just joking with me?"

"Huh?" Mitsuki says blinking a couple times in confusion, "I mean no.... I don't... but it's a type of monster isn't it..?"

"Nee-chan......Cave dweller is plural for many as in a large community or group not a singular race of monster....." Byakuya facepalms "Aren't you taking geology? Cave dweller is what they call the northerners as in every single monster that lives in the north descends from an original monster born in caves.....that doesn't even specify what he is, it just says he's from the north but that's about it...."

"Oh...." Mitsuki says looking down feeling a bit dumb "I guess I should pay more attention in class..." She looks off in to space thinking to herself 'I wonder why he doesn't want to tell me exactly what he is.... then again I didn't want to tell him that I came from a highly respected family so I can understand it.'

Byakuya looks at her seriously "I'm gonna give you one more try if you fail again I'm forbidding you from seeing him again....step your game up Mistuki your a Hayabusa and we are not losers unless you admit that you aren't good enough for it...I mean I guess.we all have our skills" he shrugs turning around "Maybe finding out what someone is, is just too hard for you"

"Its not too hard!" Mitsuki says defensively, "I can do it! I'm not a child!" She says a bit frustrated, "I'll find out what he is and I won't let you keep me from seeing him." She says sounding determined as she leaves his study.

Byakuya smirks putting away his last file 'Looks like I tapped into her determined side...now she won't give up' and turning off his laptop 'now...Uryu time to go on the hunt..'

-The Next Day-

The school bell rings signifying its lunch time, Mitsuki rushes out of class and heads toward the courtyard where she meets up with Yasuo and Izumo. She smiles seeing Yasuo already there and walks over.

"Hey Yasuo!" She says as she takes a seat next to him on one of the benches. "How's your day going so far?"

Yasuo smiles and nods "My days been wonderful. I helped Mrs. Dracula clean out her closets they had a bit of a bat infestation hehe..." he chuckles proudly, pulling out a box of bento for her "How about you?"

She blushes taking it "A-Arigato." she smiles popping a piece of sushi into her mouth. After swallowing she nods "Mines been pretty good so far but you know what would really make it extraordinary?" she says in an curious tone.

Yasuo tilts his head in a curious manner as to come off as cute "What's that? Ah, it's Ice cream? Isn't it? I know you better than you think" he says taking a bite of his own food

"H-How did you know that?" She asks slightly embarrassed as her cheeks get redder. She shakes her head trying to calm her blush, "I didn't realize you paid so much attention."

"Ah, come on...I may seem simple minded but I'm at least a little smart" Yasuo chuckles rubbing the back of his head "So, How's class going?"

"Class is going as good as class can be, boring though, really boring." Mitsuki stops eating for a moment and bites her lip gently, clearly wanting to ask Yasuo something.

Yasuo raises his eyebrow "Are you okay Mitsuki? You seem off today" He asks confused

Mitsuki nods and smiles his way "Yeah I'm okay, just have something on my mind that's all."

He nods and turns toward her completely "What's on your mind? Nothing seems to bother you this much."

"Well..." She pauses before looking up at him "Not to be nosy or anything but I've been wondering what specific type of monster you were. You gave me a kind of broad answer last time and if I knew what you were exactly..." she pauses again not sure if she should tell him Byakuya's proposition, "things would just be easier." she smiled at him shyly.

"Persistent...I like that about you" Yasuo chuckles turning back to his food "Why does it matter what I am? I could be a goblin in disguise, and that would mean I'm a hideous Creature hiding his true form....would you judge me then? Would you be disgusted at a disgusting wart filled dwarf-like Creature? Would you not want to be friends anymore?"

Mitsuki shakes her head "Of course not. It doesn't matter to me what you are, it won't change what I think of you." Her blush returns a bit and she tries to hide it, "I just think that if Byakuya knew what you were then, I don't know, maybe he'd lay off a bit. Besides," she gives a teasing smirk "what's wrong with wanting to get to know you a bit better?"

"Ah.." he looks away in thought hiding his blush, he clears his throat "well
to be honest with you Mitsuki I have no idea what I am. Hehehe" he chuckles childishly "my parents never told me what I was when they sent me here.....I mean I never really asked."

"Huh? Mitsuki asks confused "But haven't you ever, you know changed form in anyway? Even if it wasn't fully?"

Yasuo shrugs "if I have I've never noticed..." he lies smoothly "I never see myself any differently then what I look, and I barely speak to my parents because their really, really, really far away" he empathizes on the 'far' more than usual

"Hmm" Mitsuki thinks unsurely but shrugs it off with a smile "I would've wanted to know what I am a long time ago. I'm just more of a curious mind I suppose."

"Oh okay" Yasuo laughs inwardly "I can see the curiosity oozing but really to be fair if I knew what I were I'd tell you.." he leads off the topic "So you ready for the history test coming up? Vampire history is very intriguing"

"Huh? What? We have a history test coming up?" Mitsuki asks confused "I didn't even know about it."

"You must have some studying to do hehe...because this is the last test of the marking period if you fail you fail the marking period for history" Yasuo chuckles

"Crap, I guess I should start studying then." She giggles standing up, she waves to him "Catch you later Yasuo." As she begins to walk away she thinks to herself, 'Hm, how can I get him interested in releasing his true form?'
