Adam clutched his new novel he had bought last night as he entered the school campus. He was on his last year of High School, and thankfully, the classes won't start as early as last year's. His elder brother, Kier, was on his fifth and final year of college. Kier tended to go to school early, and since there was only one driver for the brothers, Adam had no choice but to join his brother upon going to school.

The garden was the first thing a student will see upon entering the campus. Adam scanned the surroundings, silently thanking God that there were only a few students, mostly children, who were in the garden. He looked for his usual reading placean old giant tree with shady leaves.

He was too absorbed in his little world, not even noticing that his batchmates began entering the school, forming their groups at the garden and having fun while waiting for the classes to start. He had only noticed it when the noise became unbearable for him to read his book in peace.

He angrily inserted the book inside his bag.

"Everyone, shut the fuck up, will you?" he yelled at the top of his lungs.

The garden became quiet at once. The students looked at him, annoyance evident in their expressions.

A popular basketball player just snorted at Adam.

"Here comes the beast!" he mocked Adam, and everybody began laughing.

It's Quiro Ardeza again, Adam thought. Quiro approached Adam, who didn't want to give up on the staring contest.

"You know what, you may be a silver spoon-fed prince in your mansion, but you're nothing in this school, okay?" the player cooed, as if talking to a child.

Having had enough of Adam, Quiro shoved Adam as hard as he could and walked away with a sardonic laugh, making the latter hit his back on the trunk. His victorious smirk cannot be wiped off his face.

It's hard to be in a school where there's no one to talk to, much less rely on when everything is not okay. Adam decided to trust only himself and never back down in any situation. He could care less what others think of him. After all, nobody really took notice of him.

Adam groaned in frustration when he realized he was stuck in the traffic. At 5:30 AM, Epifanio delos Santos Avenue was already jam-packed with different private and public vehicles. He cannot be late for his lecture on a graduate school. He turned on his radio to stop himself for bursting in anger and bringing out his gun (of course, that's exaggeration).

However, the music that first played from his USB flash drive further intensified his annoyance for this day, even though every day for him was a shitty day. It was Paramore's "My Heart".

I am finding out that maybe I was wrong

That I've fallen down and I can't do this alone

Stay with me

This is what I need... please

He hated that song very much, and whoever invented that stupid song must fuck off and go to hell for all he cared. He quickly changed the song to a nicer alternative rock song. After a decent amount of minutes, the cars finally began moving. But it was another thirty minutes for him before he reached the graduate school.

Adam parked his car to a nice place where it won't get anyone's attention. After double-checking, he proceeded to the school campus and logged in. He saw a handful of college students, some of them he knew from his class. Three of the students saw him and pretended not to see him. Such action made him raise his eyebrow.
