Elisha's day had a headstart. It included being able to talk with Adam alone for the first time since they broke up. Although it was school-related and she pretended not to understand such part of the lesson, it didn't really matter. He was very professional with the way he interacted with her. She did not even sense bitterness or whatsoever, even though he was very offensive (not towards her, but with the manner of speaking) when his rants started.

"Sir Vallega's still a handsome man," her best friend, Isabelle, started. She was the only one whom Elisha had told about her relationship with Adam. She supported their relationship, and got mad when she broke up with Adam. "Ang bitter niya pa rin sa'yo!"

"I talked to him. He was so professional," Elisha commented.

Isabelle scoffed. "Of course. Do you want him to start blaming you for breaking up with him?"

Elisha laughed. "Not really. I don't think Adam is that kind of person."

"Are you really going to fix your relationship with him? Gosh, he's so loyal. He already announced that he started writing the book three of Why She Left," the other girl commented.

Her eyes widened. "Book three?"

"When will you ever read the book? It's not really a long one."

Elisha sighed. "I don't know..." she said hesitantly.

"Well, you should really read the book," Isabel told her with a forlorn look.

"I will read the book for sure, when I am emotionally ready," Elisha assured her best friend. "It's still hard for me... I'm scared of what he's written about me."

Adam let out his last puff of smoke, finishing the cigarette stick. He was in his flat for the night. Actually, his habit was not intentional. When he was 22, he just didn't know the hype about it and just tried it for a change, but he became hooked to it. It made him a little better when he's stressed, somehow.

A week had passed since the first lecture, and Elisha's presence was making it difficult for him to teach the class normally. He sighed, closing the new novel he just finished reading. Why was his life so complicated? He had heard that his old high school was going to throw a reunion, but no one had even wanted to invite him.

Adam snorted. They were just insecure that he was the only one who finished college with a summa cum laude attached to his name.

The following day, he fixed himself and grabbed his wallet and keys for the high school reunion. Before that, he thoroughly cleaned his car to make some noisy entrance. He arrived within an hour and registered his name early.

Most of his classmates were seen with wide eyes and dropped jaws. Who would have thought that the school outcast would have his guts to attend such reunion? Who would he be reunited with? No one, really. He had no friends or even acquaintances. Everyone, for him, was too far away for him to reach, not the other way around.

Adam was no longer the same guy before. He was all smiles with the people who recognized him. He was the batch valedictorian. No one can forget an Adam Kyrone Vallega, most especially his teachers who were really happy to see him.

"Adam Vallega, one of my best students, I see," his class adviser, now in his mid-fifties commented.

Adam smiled. "Nice to see you again, Sir de Jesus," he replied.

"I haven't heard much about you since you left the school, but they told me you're a professor. Is that true?" Mr. de Jesus asked with a smile as well.
