While on the surface a handshake appears to be a warm, friendly gesture, this can be a superficial reading.

3. When people shake hands with both their handlike hand hugging it usually shows that the person is seeking to convey trustworthiness and honesty, seeking to control.
4. When the handshake is equal and vertical it is non-threatening and relaxed.
5. A vigorous pumping handshake tends to indicate energy and enthusiasm of the shaker towards the other person.
6. Weak handshakes can be due to various aspects of personality, mood, etc.
7. Firm handshakes are a sign of outward confidence, which could mask deceit or a weak bullying nature, or indicate a strong solid person.
8. Ahandshake with arm clasp indicates a wish to control or a feeling of care, which can be due to arrogance.
