Chapter 18

Ross pov-

The doorbell went and Ratliff and Lottie walked in. I gave him a smile but he just looked down.

"Eliza's upstairs unless you want to watch practice" I smiled at Lottie, she glanced at Ell then smiled

"I'd love to watch"

We all walked into the music room and I gave Lottie one of Ells spare drummer stools and she sat in front watching.

I called for the others and they soon trailed in saying. " oh hi Lottie. Nice to see you" and " didn't know you'd be here. Pleasant surprise" once we were all in place we started to play 'Loud'

It was amazing, everyone really picked up their game. Next was 'if I can't be with you' which didn't really turn out as planned.

We started to play and as soon as I went to open my mouth to sing Ell dropped his drum stick, stopping everyone.

" sorry" he muttered picking up the drumsticks again.

"It's okay" I smiled weakly

I looked over at Lottie and she looked concerned and confused.

We restarted the song at least 5times because Ell kept messing up. It was because Lottie was there but I couldn't just tell her to leave.

"We'll skip this one for today" Rocky Said and we all nodded in agreement

* after practice *

"Anyone up for mac and cheese?" Riker called from the kitchen. It was dinner time and Riker made probably the best mac and cheese in existence. Everyone crowded round the table except Ellington

"Do you want me to go find him?" Lottie asked

"I'll come too" I said as we got up and went to search the house. We finally found him in the spare room sat on the bed.

"I'm not hungry" he muttered

Lottie sat next to him and put an arm round him.

"Come on, please tell me what's up?"

"You'll find out" he sighed looking down

"Okay but please for me, come and eat"

He picked himself up and gave Lottie a proper hug before following us downstairs. He sat next to Lottie and didn't say a word throughout the whole of dinner.

"Ross, can I talk to you?" Lottie asked as I finished my dinner.

"Sure" I replied with a smile.

We went up to my room and sat on the bed

"Is this about Ell?" I asked and she nodded

"I'm really worried about him"

"So am I" I took her hand trying to reassure her "but with a little time he'll be back to himself I think"

"So you know?"

"Uh well. Yeah" oops I shouldn't have said that

"Please tell me" you could see the desperation In her eyes. She just wanted to help and it was all about her

"It's a girl" I sighed "he's known her for a while and kinda likes her but doesn't know if she feels the same way" just hint. That's it.

There was silence

"Ross can I tell you a secret?" Lottie asked playing with her hands

"I'm all ears" I smiled

"I..erm...i.." she stuttered "I think I like Ell. Actually. I know I do but if there's a girl..." she trailed off. I wanted to tell her it was her but I couldn't. I needed to make them see it for them selves.
