Chapter 41

Ellington pov-

I dragged myself back into bed and lay there. The room fell silent and i could hear Lottie crying heavily in the other room

"Oh Lottie" I sighed as I sat up on the edge of the bed as a tear rolled down my cheek.

Her crying got harder and I couldn't take it anymore.

I wiped away the last couple of tears and walked out and to the door of the room Lottie was in.

"Lottie?" I said softly, the crying stopped and I heard footsteps

"Yes?" She called through the door

"Can I come in. We need to chat"

The door opened slowly and Lottie appeared with a duvet over her head.

"Lottie please come out" I guided her to the bed and she sat down before lifting the duvet off.

"What?" She sighed with her head down.

"I just want to tell you that you are good enough Lottie. You are better than good enough. I ask myself everyday how I managed to find a girl like you. You are unique-"

She cut me off

"Unique huh? Thanks!" She shouted "is that the best insult you could think of?" She got up and stormed out throwing the duvet on the floor

"Lottie wait!" I called running after her. I managed catch her wrist as she reached for the door.

"That's not what I meant" I tried to explain "I meant-"

"I don't want to hear it Ell I feel bad enough as it is"

I slid my hand down her wrist and took her hand

"You don't have to listen just let me speak" I pleaded and she looked at me

"When I said you were unique I meant you aren't like other girls. You're better than all of them. You complete me Lottie, as cheesy as it sounds it's true. I was so happy when I became friends with you and as we got closer I felt more and more complete"

I looked her in the eyes as she started to cry

"You complete me too but I just don't think I fit in" she said wiping her eye

"You do fit in. Everyone loves you, me most of all" I smiled slightly and she gave me a small smile back

"Ell I'm not ready for us to be together again but I want you to know that I still love you and i might be ready to be an 'us' again at some point"

"I love you too" I smiled "and I'm willing to wait until you are ready. You are the only girl I need"

Lottie looked up at me and smiled again as I put my spare hand on the door frame and leant in to kiss her looking her in the eyes. Her eyes flickered between mine and my lips as she smiled and closed the gap between our faces as time fell slow, I felt her smile into the kiss and I smiled back. We were always closer as friends anyway and this was perfect.
