The Snapchat Mistake That Lead To Ethan Wacker

Chapter 14 The Birthday Party

Eventually 2 cars pull into the driveway right after each other. Lexi and Gracie get out of the gray minivan, while Katy and Brooke get out of the pickup truck. I wave to the cars when they back out of the driveway. They set their stuff down and we give each other hugs. I can see Ethan standing behind us. I step aside and introduce him to everyone. "Ethan, this is Lexi, Gracie, Brooke, and Katy." He says, "Hey" Brooke says, "So this is the one and only Ethan that Ce is always talking about." I knew she was gonna say something like that so I just shake my head. We start walking to the house when Cody joins up with us, and starts talking to Ethan. We go down to my room while the guys stay in the kitchen. We change into our swimsuits and start to take pictures in Emily's full body mirror. It turns into us on the floor laughing from the stupid poses we were doing. Finally we head upstairs to get in the pool. 

I had totally forgot about Ethan and Cody because I was so caught up with everything else downstairs, but when we got to the kitchen they were eating the appetizers and talking. Everyone else went straight outside, wrapped up in their towels. I told them I would be out in a minute. "If you guys want you are welcome to join us in the pool or you can do whatever else you want." Cody immediately says, "I will go home and get my swimsuit." I nod and he leaves, then look at Ethan, he says he will be out in a minute. He looks a little sad so I ask, "Is everything okay?" He says, "Yea I am just not used to the time change yet." I smile and said, "Okay I will see you outside than." He brightens up a bit and says, "Yea absolutely" and I go outside. 

Everyone is on the pool deck still wrapped up in the towel. I ran up yelling, "Why isn't anyone in the pool yet?" They all shout in unison, "It's cold." I say "you will get used to get once you actually get in the pool." with a laugh. I then lay my towel over the edge of the railing and jump in yelling "CANNON BALL" and splash everyone. When I come up from under the water, I see Brooke jumping in too. We look at each other in the pool then look at everyone else. Then we run, at least as fast as we can in the pool, to the edge. I climb out of the pool while Brooke uses the ladder and we everyone's towel and throw than on the chairs and the railing of the deck. They are screaming and laughing while Brooke and I laughing. I push Aubrey in the pool and she yells at me "I hate you Ce, I literally hate you." Brooke gives Katy a big push into the pool. Gracie and Lexi are cornered on the edge of the deck and the pool and Brooke and I look at each other and run at them. We push them in and jump in after them. By then we are all laughing and splashing each other. We swim for awhile Cody and Ethan join us too. Then we move the trampoline next to the pool and jumped into the pool from the trampoline.  

Eventually Adee, my mom, and Ethan's mom came out with pizza, pop, and chips. We all wrap ourselves with towels and sit at the table on the house deck, while we ate. Adee want to join us so I let her sit on my lap while she eats her pizza. After we eat, Cody has to go back home so he leaves, while Ethan goes and get dressed. The girls go to my room and we take turns using the bathroom, some of us washing our hair and the others just getting dressed. Ethan comes in and sit's on my bed when we are all brushing our hair in different spots in the room. We all start talking about hair, movies, Disney, and weird wacky stories everyone had. My mom had came down and told us that it was starting to get dark if we wanted to start our bonfire now. We had all lost track of time and was surprised at how much time had past when we were talking. We all head upstairs. 

The sun is setting and there are so many different shades of blue, purple, red, orange, and yellow. It is beautiful. We decide to take pictures of the sunset and our bonfire. We take some as a group and some with just some of us or by ourselves. It was fun to have like a mini photo shoot because I usually never take pictures unless it is Snapchat. While we were taking photos Ethan was by the bonfire and was keeping it lit, and was watching us. Then Brooke says, "Ce why don't you take some pictures with Ethan?" Everyone else says, "Yea take some pictures with him." I look at him and he is looking at me. He starts walking over and I give my phone to Aubrey. We stand next to each other awkwardly as everyone else has their phone out taking pictures. He then puts his arm around me and we both smile at the cameras. Gracie then says, "Ethan why don't you give Ce a kiss on the cheek, it would be a really cute photo." We look at each other and he says, "Sure" still looking at me. I look back at them and Ethan gives me a kiss on the cheek. They all say in union "aawwwww." He pulls away and smiles. After that we all go and sit on chairs and the bench around the fire. Ethan sits next to me on the bench, and Lexi starts playing music on the speaker. They start dancing but I stay sitting down because I don't want to get embarrassed by my horrible dancing. 

They sit down when they get tired of dancing, by then it is completely dark. My mom and grandpa walk past us after the finish in the barn for the night. Then my mom and Adee brings out stuff for smores. My mom lets Adee make a s'more with us, then they go inside. We all make 2 to 3 s'mores each and they are delicious.  When we are finish with our s'mores, we all just sit and talk to each other around the fire. It starts to get cold and I have a blanket but I am still cold. Ethan sees me shiver and asks, "Do you want my sweatshirt?" I nod my head and he takes off his hoodie and gives it to me. He has a long sleeve shirt on underneath while I am wearing a short sleeve shirt. I put on his sweatshirt even though it is pretty big on me. Everyone else looks at me with a look that says, way to go Callie. I just shake my head. It is about 11 o'clock and I start to get tired, Ethan puts his arm around me and I put my head on his shoulder. After a while we decide to go inside. We decide to watch a movie. Ethan's mom was sleeping in my brothers room tonight so the movie room was open for us. My brother was at his friend's house tonight. We eventually decide to watch the movie "We bought a Zoo" after everyone's bickering ended. 

Halfway through the movie Lexi goes back to my room to go to bed. A couple minutes Gracie, Katy, Brooke, and Aubrey go to my room to and find a spot to go to bed. The movie was still going when I decided to follow them to bed. I tell Ethan, "I think that I am gonna go to bed too." He says, "Okay, I'll go to bed then too." He grabs the remote and turns the movie off. He then starts again, "Ce, I hope you had a good birthday." I tell him, "Of course I had a good birthday, you're here."He has never called me Ce before, he must have picked it up today when everyone else was calling me that. We give each other a hug and say goodnight. I start to walk out of the door when he says with a loud whisper, "Ce, wait." I look back at him and he walks up to me and gives me a kiss on the cheek. I couldn't help but smile. He opens his eyes and looks at me, he smiles too. I give him on a kiss on the cheek too, and say goodnight again. 

I immediately fall asleep once my head hits the pillow, along with everyone else.
