The Snapchat Mistake That Lead To Ethan Wacker

Chapter 15 The First Kiss

We all wake up late since we didn't go to bed at a decent time. We eventually get off our phones and go upstairs for breakfast. My sister Emily made eggs for us and my mom was making pancakes. We all take a seat at the table or counter and start talking about the night. We decided to open presents after breakfast because they want to know what I thought about the presents.  We all finish our breakfast and head to the living room to open presents and watch some tv. Ethan joins us in the living and sit next to his mom and Adee on the couch. My friends gather on the floor with me by the presents, while my family sits on the coach and the chair. 

I open all the presents. I get money, gift cards, a shirt, candy, movie, and a shirt from my favorite tv show, Teen Wolf. I say thank you to everyone and give them a hug. We go back downstairs and they pack their stuff up, and we play on our phones, and talk about our summers, the party, and school. When Lexi's mom texts her that she is here, we all go upstairs and wait in the living room. Eventually everyone leaves and I go down to my room. I decide to get dressed and go outside since Alex did my chores this morning because I had the party. When I am doing my hair in 2 french braids while listening to music, Ethan comes in and sits next to me. We start talking and eventually we head out to see my goats. I let them outside and I sit on the lawn chair in the corner of their outside pen with Ethan. We talk about the goats and other stuff. Eventually his mom calls him inside and I put the goats back and head to the barn. I see nobody in the barn so I head out to my spot in the field. I sit thinking about the party and how much fun it was, when I get a text. Thinking that it was one of my friends, I get my phone out of my jean shorts pocket and open the message. Surprisingly it was my father, he hadn't texted me yesterday but I didn't care, at least I thought so. He's text said, Happy Birthday wish I was there to see you. Hope you have a great day. 

I couldn't believe it, he had forgotten my birthday. Without thinking much I just texted back Thanks and shut my phone off. I looked at the beautiful bright blue sky with only a couple clouds in it. I saw the field of hay on my right side and a field of growing corn on my left. I couldn't help to think about my father, how he left us, how he forgot my birthday, how he didn't care about us, how he still talks to us even though he left us. I couldn't handle it any longer so I just started to cry. I usually never cry but here I was balling my eyes out. What has happened to me. I used to never care about him but how could I not he left us and on my birthday all he says is happy birthday. I am still crying when I hear footsteps coming up. I look to my left and see Ethan. Once our eyes meet he starts walking a little faster towards me. I quickly wipe my tears from my face so he won't know or see me crying. Once he gets over here he sits down next to me and asks, "Are you okay?" I tell him, "Yea I am fine, why wouldn't I be?" He tells me nervously, "I don't want to sound rude but it looks like you have been crying." I say, "No I am just tired from last night." He says, "Okay, and he turns away from me and says, "I was gonna give this to you this earlier but I couldn't so I thought I could give it to you now." I smile at him and say, "Okay, but you didn't have to get me anything." He says still with the present behind his back, "Don't be silly, of course I couldn't forget your birthday present when you kept talking about your birthday ever since we started talking." He pulls out this little box wrapped in a dark blue wrapping paper. 

I smile at him as I take the box from his extended arm. He gives me a huge smile, as I start to take the paper off to reveal a red box. I look at him then back at the present and open the box to reveal a necklace. The necklace is of a silver palm tree and volcano. I assume it is supposed to represent Hawaii, where Ethan lives when he isn't in LA. I give him a smile and say thank you. He tells me that there is something else on the back of the necklace. I look at him puzzled for a second then turned the necklace over to reveal the back of the necklace. Engraved in the back of the necklace is my name Callie. I couldn't believe it. I give him a hug and tell him thanks and that I love it. I ask him to put it on for me. He puts it around my neck and clasps it closed. I turn around to face him. He takes my hands in his, looking into my eyes, then slowly leans in closing his eyes. I close my eyes too and he puts his hand around my cheek and kisses me. I kiss back and after about 2 seconds we pull away from each other. We both open our eyes and hugs each other. We decide to go back to the house since it is almost time for night chores. On the way to the goats we pass Cody who sees Ethan and I holding hands. He doesn't say anything, we just glance at each other and keep walking. 

This has been one of the best birthdays I have ever had. Cody and Aubrey go on their "date" tomorrow. I wonder what they are going to do and how it turns out.
