More months had passed and Kushina had finally went into labor.
We would be happy, but unfortunately, things took a dark turn.
The Nine Tailed Fox had somehow escaped and it was attacking the village right now. The worst part of it, was that us younger jounin couldn't fight or aid in protecting the village. We were told to stay back and to let the adults handle it.
It didn't matter about our rank, they just wanted the younger generation to stay out of it.
Kurenai glared at her father as he told us the rules.
"What? Why can't we help? This isn't fair!" She exclaimed.
I spoke up with her. "I agree! My aunt is pregnant, I must do what I can to make sure that both her and my uncle are safe!"
He sighed and gave her a lecture, leaving her speechless. He turned to me, "You need to put your trust in Lord Hokage's orders. He's going to make sure that his wife and all of you are safe,"
I was about to retort, but Asuma just put his hand on my shoulder to stop me. I turned to look at him and he shook his head, pretty much telling me that I need to listen and stop arguing. Kurenai was looking down while clenching her fists, Anko was shaking with anticipation, and Naomi looked pissed off that she couldn't help.
We wanted to fight, but the adults wouldn't let us. They refused to let us go, no matter how much we begged and pleaded.
I don't understand why they won't let us go when we fought in the war.
I was about to speak, but a menacing roar pierced through the air. I shuddered a little, realizing that was the Nine tails.
I looked up, seeing a few houses and buildings being crushed. I looked further up the sky, seeing a large orange tail in the distance and saw a flash of yellow. I knew what I was going to do next and no one could stop me.
Guy and Asuma both looked at me, recognizing the look in my eyes.
"You're going to go, aren't you?" Guy asked.
I nodded and Asuma looked worried.
"Hana, please don't," He pleaded. "They already told us to stay back and help the remaining villagers here. I heard some shinobi had already been killed by that beast,"
I saw the scarlet glow of the Nine Tai's chakra. There was a tailed beast bomb that was released and a loud explosion sounded off.
"I have to," I said determinedly. "You guys can't stop me,"
Guy grabbed my right arm and Asuma grabbed the left.
"Hana, as your friend, we can't let you do this," Guy said.
"It's reckless," Asuma added.
"I'm sorry,"
They gasped in surprised when suddenly I poofed away. They realized that they grabbed onto a clone the entire time and I was actually standing in the trees.
Kurenai was going to follow, but was stopped by Asuma. Tears streamed down her cheeks as he told her to stay back. They watched me, leave with worry in their eyes.
I couldn't let my uncle do this alone, whether or not he was the Hokage. I couldn't lose someone else that I loved. Minato and Kushina were the only family that I had left, so the thought of losing them made my chest hurt.
I followed the trail where I saw Minato's yellow flash and a cold feeling ran through my body. I had this horrible feeling about what could happen and I did my best to push those thoughts out of my head.
I gasped when suddenly a dark purple ball of chakra came flying in my direction.
Before it could hit me, someone grabbed me just in time and I saw it was Minato.
"Y-You knew I was trying to follow you?" I asked.
"Yes," He replied sharply. "I told you to stay back. I can't have you getting killed, do you understand how easily that tailed beast bomb could've killed you?!"
"But I..." My eyes watered slightly. "I don't..."
He sighed, knowing what I was trying to say. Before he could say something, his gaze was focused on something else now and he narrowed his eyes. I looked over to what he was looking at and I saw a man with a mask and bushy hair standing in front of us.
"Hana, you need to leave right now,"
"No!" I shook my head. "I fought in the war, so I'm tough enough to handle him. I'm not letting you die, Uncle!"
I haven't felt this helpless in a long time. I could feel my tears wanting to spill and Minato knew that I was close to letting them fall, since my voice was wavering.
"Hana-"
"Please...I can't lose you too..."
"Go, now."
I gave him and that masked man one last look. The man was staring at me and I couldn't help but wonder if that was the guy Naomi and I ran into on that mission a few months back.
I then left, feeling dejected.
I heard a scream from somewhere in the village and I decided to go help, since I couldn't help Minato at all.
I escorted a few villagers and children to a safe house underground. Minato had this place built after he became Hokage since he felt that security in the village was a priority in case something happened to the village.
Asuma found me and he saw how broken my spirit was.
"Look," he sighed. "I understand why you're scared of Lord Hokage going alone, but you need to have faith in our Hokage. There's a reason why he was appointed as our Hokage,"
"I know...but..." I couldn't explain to him what I saw.
"You can't let emotions cloud your judgement right now. Just focus on helping around the village for now," Asuma said.
"Look!" Someone shouted. "They're going to restrain the Nine Tails now!"
I turned around and ran to where he was being restrained, ignoring Asuma's calls.
I got close and my heart stopped.
It was happening again.
There was a large claw pierced through Minato and Kushina. She had chains coming out of her back and she was holding Naruto. They were both saying their last words to him, while tearing up.
Naruto started crying and they gave me a sad smile.
The same smile Obito gave me before he died.
I just collapsed to the ground. I felt tears pouring down my cheeks like waterfalls and it was hard to breathe. How could I breathe right now?
I couldn't think straight or anything. Minato and Kushina said their last words to me and I shakily tried to reach out to them, but a lifeless look appeared in their eyes.
The night didn't get any better either. The Nine Tailed Fox was sealed into my baby cousin and Lord Third had to have someone carry me home because I was too shaken up to move or speak.
