Annabeth P.O.V.
We should not have come here. That was the thought that came to mind when we stepped out of the portal. As soon as everyone was here a yell sounded out and a crazed faun came running at us waving a club above his head. Only to be pushed away from a powerful gust of wind that came from Ciel. She just laughed and commented on crazy old Carl. Then after we started walking a fog rolled in and we were made to hold onto each other by order Ciel we quickly obeyed after a couple hunters went missing. We found them later passed out with two small holes in their necks. We were able to wake them up but they said they didn't remember anything. Then we ran into a small marsh. While we quickly got through it we discovered why Ciel floated above the water everyone had leaches on them. After we got the all off we walked for a while longer, what felt like hours then we saw another person. We all stopped and the girl started to look panicked. "What's wrong it's just a mortal hunter?" Deric asked her."That's what I'm afraid of they are stupid, and do stupid things, then get killed for their stupidity. If something happens you all must listen to everything I tell you to do understood!" She whispered fiercely.
We all watched as the hunter spotted a large buck grazing. Ciel mutter a curse under her breath, or a prayer I couldn't hear it. I was drawn out of my thoughts by the sound of a gunshot. The buck just dropped to the ground eight there. The mortal have a small victory yell as he made his way to his kill. Then a thundering roar shook the forest you could hear the rage of the beast that made that sound. The hunter quickly spun around reloading his rifle. A large grey figure fell from the treetops and landed in between the hunter and the dear. It was a massive 8 almost 9 feet tall, it's body rippled thick muscle covered in a thick layer of fur. Humanoid in shape but it's arms were too long, hands too big, fingers like claws, long moss like growths from the top of its head down past its shoulders a large set of antlers and two glowing red eyes, and an animalistic snout from the shadow of its face. A let out another roar in the face of the hunter making him fall to the ground. The beast then slammed both fists into the mortal. The sound of bones cracking and breaking filled the forest with a scream. Deric and Jason went to help the man but were stopped by a nervus looking Ciel. The beast grabbed the man's legs and lifted him up and slammed him back to the ground a couple times bone breaking with each hit. It finally grabbed the upper part of the man's body and lifted him above its head before biting a large chunk out of his middle, then ripped him in half splattering blood over the trees.
It spit out the chunk of flesh and with a roar slung the two half of the man away. Then it walked over to the deer and sat down placing it's blood splattered hand over the body of the deer. A soft green light shined from under its hand. The buck the unsteadily rose up and looked at the beast. In lowered it's head in a sort of bow and then trotted off as if nothing happened. I snapped my head to the side looking at a hunter who had fallen down over a log when she tried to back away. I heard a deep grunt and looked back to see the beast looking at us. With a deep growl that shook the trees it started walking towards us. Ciel quickly jumped in front of us with a knife in her hand. Instead of attacking the monster the cut the palm of her hand and shoved it at the beast. It stopped and sniffed the air. It shook it's head with a snort and stomped it's hoof with a load thud. Ciel bowed her head and motioned for us to do the same as well. The panicked look of her face made us comply and lower our heads as well until we heard another snort with a load grunt and another hoof stomp this one loader and seemed like a threat. I turned to see lady Artemis holding her head high. "I am a goddess I do not bow."
Ciel quickly walked over to her and spoke in a harsh angry whisper " this is the guardian of the forest it has been alive since the time of the primordials, protecting this forest from primordials, titans, gods, and demons, you do not have your power here it will rip you to pieces just like that stupid mortal over there. So I say again bow your bloody head your he will rip it off."
Just when it seemed things would go wrong there was a soft bark but so loud it echoed through the forest. Everyone turned to see a giant wolf standing there staring at us. I could tell it wasn't a natural wolf it stood about 6ft high and had almost a sea green stripes near its head and neck. The guardian snorted at it and growled gesturing towards us. The wolf barked again but growled this time taking a step forward. With a hoof stomp the guardian turned and took a couple steps away before making a sound that was similar to an elks call. It bowed it's head slightly at the wolf who returned it. The guardian started to walk away before turning and disappearing behind a tree, but the tree wasn't nearly thick enough for it to hid behind so I can only assume that it's gone now. I looked back over at the wolf only to find it gone as well.
"You all are incredibly lucky. He would have killed all of us because of your stupidity. While we are in this forest if I tell you to do something you better fucking do it do you hear me!" Ciel yell at us all.
After we all nodded albeit a bit reluctantly from the goddess we headed back out everyone carful to avoid the gory mess. After another hour of walking we came upon an old chapel run down and completely fallen apart. Ciel navigated her way around the rubble before in covering a staircase that looked newer than the rest of the structure. As we descended the stairs we ran into several doors that she had to use pass codes to unlock. Once inside the last door it opened up into a large modern room fully equipped with a large plasma TV a fully stocked bar and everything someone could want. I even saw a library through one of the open doors. A man walked through another door and headed towards the bar. "Hey you two glad you are alright I would've hated to hear y'all parishes in your journey here." He said.
I was surprised to see it was the man we had met when I was getting the information from my contact. He went behind the bar and poured himself a glass. "Hey Talon get your ass up we have company!" He yelled out.
From the couch in front of the TV we saw an arm and legs flail as someone fell off the couch with a loud thump. He jumped up and turned to look at us. Something about his face triggered something inside me. I felt like something was missing and I was close to it. I saw a few flashes of something but I couldn't make it out. "You hahaha I knew you would come." He walked around the couch holding his arms out.
Then he drew a pistol from his leg holster pointing it at us. "But you will never get my cloaks you bastards!!!"
