(Latika's Point of view)

As I sat in the metro station on a Sunday morning waiting for the train to arrive, my thoughts went back to the time when a mundane metro trip turned into a life changer. It has been two years now, still seems yesterday when we were bestowed with the responsibility to prevent chaos from taking over. I never thought in the process I would make friends for life, a customary tale would turn true; I would actually be a reincarnation; the one who had prowess in swordsmanship. I still remember how a change of heart altered our malefic fate as foretold by Rishi Tyaag. Only after this episode, I started to value my life more, sought happiness in my imperfect life. Because some people like Aaran weren't even fortunate enough to have that... "Aaran, I still hope that I see you again." I thought in my head as a train arrived.

I was on my way to meet Mohit, Kartike and Uttara; we had promised each other to catch up every weekend. Kartike and Uttara were a couple now, Kartike had picked up a job while Uttara was in her final year of mass com. Things turned out really well for them. The very thought of it made me smile, how much kartike wanted to impress her! Mohit.. well after we landed in the abandoned mansion where we had been kept all this while which happened to be for less than 5 hours surprisingly, Mohit asked me about how I felt about him. I couldn't lie to him; he was one guy whom I had come to like a lot but nothing beyond. He asked me to promise him that we would confide in each other like friends do and I happily nodded. We even met his gf Kiara and I couldn't help but be jealous for she is drop dead gorgeous!

All these thoughts vanished when I boarded the train and sat in my usual coach. The faces weren't the same anymore, but I kinda liked it; making non verbal acquaintance with new people was comforting as in every face I searched for only him. I got off at Rajeev chowk and ran into Uttara; she had started to look like a lady and a pretty one with her golden brown hair with red streaks reaching to her waist, her sun kissed skin glowed while she had a toned body. Her attire continued to be à la mode but more towards sophisticated fashion than the hip hop version. "Hi Latika!" She greeted. "Have you spotted the boys yet?" She looked around like a hawk in search for its prey. Suddenly someone covered my eyes and I could hear Uttara giggling. "Kartike!" I responded with a frown. "How did you guess? I thought you would say Mohit." He responded as he gradually uncovered my eyes and I saw Mohit standing next to Uttara, looking handsome as always even in his casual attire. He looked at me with a grin on his face and kartike was getting scolded for keeping his lady waiting. He had grown taller and not to mention much more handsome supporting a slight rugged look but his love for football was intact as he wore his ManU jersey.

We all went to Mohit's favourite Starbucks, placed an order as the boys were hungry. "Mohit, a skimmed milk latte for you?" I asked and he laughed. " Yes! Clumsy Miss!" "Wow, 2 years couldn't change you!" I spoke with a half moon smile. "You weren't there to change me." He replied with his dark brown eyes looking at mine and I couldn't help but shrug my shoulders. "Hey guys! This table looks cool!" Kartike's voice motioned us to the table. Kartike and Uttara held hands, sat next to each other, talked while glancing at each other. I felt awkward sitting next to Mohit especially when two lovebirds were facing us. "So what's up? How is work?"Mohit spoke to break the ice and the awkward moment. "I have been transferred to a new location, I will be leaving in a week's time.." I spoke hesitantly and that distracted Uttara as she glanced at us. Mohit's eyes flickered but he managed, "That's great! Where to?" "What? That's not cool!" Kartike interjected. "How will we meet every weekend then?" He said with a hint of disappointment. "Come on guys, work takes you places but I promise that I will drop by often to catch up with you." I comforted him. "I am moving to Mumbai but I am sure I won't survive a day in the local trains!" I laughed heartily and so did everyone.

I hugged Kartike and Uttara as they headed for her college fest. Mohit urged to drop me off and I conceded. "You drive surprisingly well, Mohit." I nudged him and he smirked. "What did you expect? I think if I hadn't been a lawyer, I would have taken to cabs. What's say?" He asked with a glimmer in his eyes. "Yeah right! You want the entire cab business to run on your shoulders? Every woman would want you as her chauffeur." I winked and he smirked. Finally I was home. "Thank you, Mohit for everything." He bent his neck towards me and placed a peck on my cheek and spoke, "Come back soon..Latika." I got out of the car and waved at him. He reversed his car

and moved out of the colony gate. I sighed but with a feeling of contentment; I had such amazing people to come back to. Mumbai hope you are as warm as Delhi, with that thought I looked at the basking spring sun which shone beautifully.
