Hey guys. Here's chapter 9!........... Enjoy !!!!!!

(Uttara's Hallucination)

"Where am I?" I wondered. The softness of linen and the fluffy pillow on which my head rested reminded me of my bed. I am back! I got up and thanked my stars for it was just a dream, all of it and a very absurd one for sure!

I had never been more grateful to have woken up to a Monday morning, I checked. I got dressed in my wacky outfit . I liked experimentation and playing with hues that made me à la mode. I ran to the breakfast table with my sling bag and novel in place. I loved having breakfast with my dad and the drive with him to the metro station. Unlike the usual days when he would call out my name for I always ran late, not a word was heard. No one was present at the table. My doorbell rang to which I hurriedly attended in anticipation of my dad's arrival. His colleague, a family friend of ours, stood still with hands folded behind him and spoke with a crack in his voice, "I am sorry to hear of your father's demise." Shockwaves ran through my body, I choked on my own saliva as tears welled up in my eyes. It felt as if my breath was forcefully sapped out from my body, I felt weak and walked wobbly till the weight on my shoulders made me fall on the floor. I was broken. Losing my father was the worst fear turning true. I screamed my lungs out in helplessness.

(Mohit's Hallucination)

"Mohit, come fast man!" I heard a voice. I was back to my apartment and my childhood friend Viraj had come over. "Viraj, what are you doing here?" I asked looking perturbed because moments back I was at the Motel. "Dude! It's your birthday, why wouldn't I be here? I think you had a rough night with Kiara." He winked. Seeing him after such a long time made me ecstatic, more so because I wasn't in that dreadful place anymore, it was just a wacky dream.

"I have a surprise for you!" He exclaimed. He took me to the rooftop of my penthouse where he had laid out a table with snacks, beer bottles kept in the ice box and two bean bags resting beside it. "Just like old times", I said contentedly. "Totally dude!" He responded while resting himself comfortably on the railing. As soon as I moved towards the ice box to fetch us chilled beer, the sound of the quivered railing and a bewildered shout for help thwarted me. I instantly ran towards the railing to find Viraj hanging at the edge, he was sweating profusely, I stretched my hand to grab his and caught hold of it. He heaved a sigh of relief while I was gradually pulling him by his hand. "Mohit, I knew you would always..." he began and in a split of a second, his hand slipped. I looked down at his corpse lying in a pool of blood with his eyes closed and his hand stretched. A lump in my throat prevented me from screaming his name. My entire body convulsed as I kept looking at my dead friend. This was unfathomable. As if someone had pierced my heart with a dagger and kept thrusting it violently. I couldn't save him !

(Kartike's Hallucination)

"Kartike, wake up son! You will be late for your practice." A voice ringed from the adjacent room. Is that my mother? I thought while getting up jerkily to find myself in my room with everything as I had left; this made me realize that I had gone bonkers! "I should stop watching weird movies, they can make you believe in your dreams, I actually thought I was stuck in a place with Uttara", I sighed in disbelief. In no time, I was ready to kick the butt of my opponent. I fixed my football studs before leaving for a friendly match with another college.

I was heading to the metro station which is a 15 minute walk from my place. With my sports kit hanging on my shoulder and my Adidas bag on my back, I was crossing the street when I heard a loud honk. Before I could look at the vehicle approaching me, it hit me. I felt an excruciating pain all over my body. As I lay in pain, my legs and arms bruised, my bags thrown 10 metres away, the nasty car reversed in my direction. I screamed my lungs out to stop it but it seemed to be of no effect. Tears rolled down my eyes as my entire body was paralysed, the car kept coming towards me and I wept helplessly. It instantly ran over me, crushing my legs, I lost complete sensation. I wailed soundlessly, I had lost my voice; my dream to play football for the Indian team was shattered. I became numb.

(Latika's Point of View)

Whom should I choose? The thought was eating me up. I was drenched in my own sweat, I could hear my heartbeat but the effect of the adrenaline rush was wearing off. The weight of my muscles had started to weigh me down. At that very instant, a deep husky voice resonated in my mind, "all of you share a cord, choose the one with whom you have the weakest accord, for he would rather believe the delusion than your intrusion."
