Adam's POV

I lightly play with her hair as she sleeps. It's so sad to see her like this, if I move her breathing speeds up and when I went to the toilet she woke up and almost had a panic attack. She turns to face me and holds her hand out a little. I carefully put my hand in hers and she holds it. I slowly fall asleep.

I wake up as Amy sits up.

"Morning, how are you feeling?" I ask.

"A bit better. Thanks for staying." She says.

"Its fine, I was tired anyway." I lie. Seeing her so scared made me on high alert. I needed to protect her so my body didn't want to sleep.

"Ok, good." She says. "I'm going for a shower." she says. I nod and stand up.

"Are you leaving?" she asks. I see the fear in her eyes.

"Dan is downstairs, I'm just going to talk to him." I say. She nods slowly and locks herself in her bathroom. I go downstairs and there are quite a few people down there. Dan, Pablo, Abby, Amy's dad, a police officer and a woman I've never met before.

"Adam, how is she?" her dad asks.

"Shook up, he asked me to stay with her last night and when I was coming down here she was terrified that I was leaving her." I say and run my hand through my hair. "She is in the shower." I say.

"Adam this is Officer Games. He in charge of the case." Dan says and I shake the man's hand.

"I need to talk to Amy see what charges she wants to file." He says. I nod.

"Where is he?" I ask.

"He is in custody and will be on remand so can't leave until after he served any sentence." He says and I nod.

"Do you want to go home and change?" Dan asks.

"I don't think that will be possible." The new woman says.

"Why?" Dan asks her.

"She is mentally very sensitive right now. She needs to feel safe and by what he has said Amy feels safest with him. He needs to stay with her until she is strong enough. Anything negative right now could really affect her, no matter how small." She tells him. She stands and holds out her hand to me. I shake it.

"I'm Anne, Amy's psychiatrist." She says. I smile and I hear the water stop running.

"Do you want me to get some stuff from your place?" Pablo asks. I nod and throw him my keys.

"I'll go up there and see if she will come down." I say and when they nod I go upstairs. I knock on the door.

"Amy, can I come in?" I ask.

"Yeah." She says and she is sitting on the chair in the corner of her room brushing her hair.

"That chair wasn't there before." I say.

"No, it was over there." she says and points to the other side of the room. "No one can sneak up behind me here and I can see everything." She says. I feel an ache grow in my chest. I cough.

"There are people downstairs that want to talk to you." I say. Her eyes fill with fear.

"Who?" she asks.

"Abby, Dan, Anne, a police officer and your dad." I say.

"Is that it?" she asks.

"Yeah, Pablo was there but he went to my place to get some stuff." I say and she nods slowly.

"What does the police officer want?" she asks.

"He wants to know what charges you want to file and stuff like that." I say.

"Will you be there?" she asks.

"I will be wherever you want me to be." I say and smile at her. I walk over and bend down. "I won't leave your side if that's what you want." I say and she nods slowly.

She goes to her mirror and sighs.

"What's wrong?" I ask, she is beautiful, it can't be that.

"If I leave my hair down someone could grab it, if I put it in a ponytail someone could grab it, of I put it in a bun someone could grab it." She says.

"I won't let anyone grab it." I say.

"Promise?" she asks.

"Promise, just leave it however you want." I say and she nods slowly. She puts it in a tight ballerina bun and we slowly leave the room. We get to the stairs and she grabs my hand. I squeeze it.

"Ok?" I ask. She nods and we go downstairs.

Amy's dad stand and hugs her. She hugs back eagerly but doesn't let go of my hand.

"You ok princess?" he asks.

"Been better dad." She says. Abby is next, she stays silent but hugs her. The police officer stands and Amy steps back. He is the only stranger here so it's understandable. He sits back down.

"So Amy, we need to process the attacker, we need to know what charges you would like to file." He says and they go through all the possibilities. Due to her status and his actions she already has a permanent restraining order and he is not allowed to be in the same county as her at any time. The only time that will be lifted is at court. They agree to try and get the most time which is life in a psychiatric hospital. Once the police officer leaves Amy seems calmer.

We go to a private room with the psychiatrist and she does damage control. She spends two and a half hours building Amy's sense of security up as much as possible. After the first hour and a half Amy can let go of my hand but I have to stay with her.

Slowly everyone leaves. Pablo drops off my stuff and while I unpack Amy keeps her eye on outside.

"What are you looking at?" I ask.

"The police officers. There are reporters too." She says.

"Really?" I ask sadly, can she not get any privacy.

"Yeah, four open police officers and three plain clothed, seven reporters and two vans with probably one person in each for a total of sixteen people out there that I can see." She says calmly. I raise my eyebrows as I'm impressed.

"You're observant." I say.

"Yeah, it's a nervous habit." She says. And gives me a small smile.

"Can I have a shower or do you need me?" I ask. She shakes her head no and I head into the bathroom. I be as quick as I can. When I turn off the water I hear sniffling so I wrap a towel around my waist and walk out.

"You ok?" I ask.

"I got my phone to put on some music then..." she trails off and shows me. The video of the attack is everywhere, so is his mugshot. I hold her and she cries into me.

"He was the guy who proposed to me on the trip, He was the one who always asked to marry me online." She says. I rub her back and shush her.

"Don't think about that now, you are safe." I say. She nods and I quickly get changed. Amy eats a little and we go to sleep.
