After driving another 29 hours we got to California with no more problems except neither Percy nor I have died yet, so it must mean that there was another Poseidon child on the coast. Nico started sensing something when we got to the docks. I was getting really worried and the water started acting up again. When we walked onto a small boat the water started to churn. There was a plump old man sitting on the boat sitting in a rocking chair watching the water. He smelled like the sea and had an aura of evil wrapped around him.

"Hiya kids. What a beautiful night it is. Isn't it?"

"Sure is sir. By any chance are you Proteus?" Annabeth asked calmly

"Why yes I am. Anything you need?"

"You will tell us whether or not you have cheated death."Piper said using her charm speaking abilities inherited from her mom aphrodite.

"Yes I have young lady. Why do you ask?"

"You will come with us." Piper said.

"Okay." But Proteus didn't move. The water was part of my powers like Percy and the waves started to get larger.

"You really think that I would come that easily. I may be a minor god but I still have powers of my own. I don't think I'll have to use them." He looked over at the sea there was a wave coming towards us. I knew it was from me. I knew Percy had control of his.

"RUN!" I yelled as it started getting bigger in size. Percy stood with me trying to force the wave back. I panicked and the wave doubled in size. Percy and I went under and was pulled into the sea.
